He was 20 games above 50% but today after a disastrous season will fall below the threshold. Next won’t be better not renewing to watch garbage!

Yes, he is sitting at .500 for his career and will definitely finish below that at seasons end:
Carmen Maciariello Born: May 27, 1978
Alma Mater: Siena (2001)
Career Record: 5 Years, 68-68, .500 W-L%
School: Siena (68-68)
Conference Champion: 2 Times (Reg. Seas.), 0 Times (Tourn.)
NCAA Tournament: 0 Years
Carm and the Saints have been trending in the wrong direction since the 2nd half of last season and this one has been a complete disaster. Will finish with the worst record and most loses in Siena D1 history. Not only is it the number of loses, it is how bad those loses have been and how bad the quality of play has been. This is NOT Siena basketball! Carm has to Go!

Family season tickets since late 70s. If changes aren’t made, no more from this family, no tickets, no donations. Nothing. Zip.

Maybe I have a short memory but the anger now is much more than during Patsos last year or Mitch’s last year or Lanier’s last year. Beyer was obviously pre message boards. The people have had enough. Painful to say but four more ass kickings to end the year might be needed to send the ultimate message.

Wish I could say you’ll regret your decision in 3 years but any light at the end of the tunnel most likely is an oncoming train … college basketball landscape for mid-majors looks rocky & rough … lots more money will be required to be competitive in this pay-to-play era
NIL is now widespread: I saw back in December one of the Siena women signed an NIL deal - freshman Alden Yergey has a shoe & clothing deal w The Elite Experience

Low to Low-Mid major hoops is pretty much dead as we knew it, you’ll likely never see a multi-year player here again that’s a difference maker. It’s one and done if you can play. Anyone who shows promise (frosh or transfer) will be looking to cash in immediately. Fran’s top 5-6 wouldn’t have lasted past a season under the current rules. Lows & Mids use to have a chance due to consistency, age and familiarity; no more. I’m losing interest. Mediocre coaching, 1 year player rentals and mostly marginal to poor talent sticking around. It couldn’t be any less interesting. Honestly I can’t understand why anyone would want to coach at this level today. If you don’t have a fistful of dollars and can’t land 4 +/- players annually that can compete immediately and keep you older, you’re done.

Doesn’t justify Siena not being competitive within the MAAC … new NIL/Portal era will make it more difficult for any mid-major team to have a NCAA tourney run … NIL will widen the talent gap between the have$ and have nots.

The above was in response to your original comment which spoke the the state of college hoops not the MAAC. The majority of the MAAC is mediocre to garbage, coaching and overall talent. We’re just the stinkiest bag in the dumpster😉.

Our NIL money is being spent on two kids with no interest being on the floor or part of this nonsense garbage.

Our NIL money is being spent on two kids with no interest being on the floor or part of this nonsense garbage. This isn’t just a Siena thing, players who are eyeing the portal have no desire to get injured. This is systemic and an added feature of the NIL. Get use to it, we’ve seen it 2 years running. Some of these kids know where they’re landing before their name hits the portal.
