Year 1 Carm got boned. Period. That team was ROLLING and IMO a very good candidate to win a tournament game. Burns was a monster inside and I think we had Pickett and Camper. That was a great team. The frog stomped the first team they played in the MAAC tourney before it was cut for COVID. Year 2 was the messed up year. We still had Camper and Pickett and lost to Pitino / Iona. Again, I don't recall that being on Carm. For some reason Pickett and Camper sh!t the bed 10 mins into the 2nd half when Iona picked up the D intensity. They had 10 TOs between the 2 of them. Years 3 & 4 - all Carm This year - all Carm. I truly hope he doesn't do a 4 game run as he'll declare victory with an 8 win team. The 19-20 season is a total unknown. They could have won the whole thing, but they could have just as easily lost in the semis or final. It's unfair but you basically have to throw it out when evaluating Carm. The 20-21, 21-22 and 22-23 teams all showed promise at times but limped into March not playing their best basketball. Maybe at the time it was hard to put that loss to Iona in 2021 on Carm but following it up with QF losses in 21-22 and 22-23 makes it a pattern.

The red flags with Carm started showing up in 2021. Concerning player and coach turnover (dozens of players and coaches have left), antiquated offensive scheme (running an offense thru an inefficient 5th year senior and a slow center), not putting players in position to succeed, lazy (none?) recruiting etc etc. All of it pointed to what we see today - an empty roster with no talent, giving more minutes to a scrub walk-on than to legitimate D1 freshman, a handful of bum internationals, open scholarships, refusal to recognize a 4-28 season as nothing more than an isolated "bad season" and insisting this team will compete for a MAAC title next season. Some of us called out the red flags 3 years ago on Twitter/MAAC board, a couple of guys on this board - we knew exactly where those red flags were going to put the program.
The recruitment of Durugordon and Efejuru is another example of lazy recruiting - neither of those players have shown the ability to play a winning style of basketball (high basketball IQ, don't turn the ball over, make your free throws, play defense, get others involved etc) - neither showed any of that at previous stops. Efejuru has negative basketball IQ, has lousy hands, can't execute a pick and roll and has no clue what he is doing defensively - great, he is 8 foot tall and 300 pounds....he is trash. Same with Durugordon - guy is a dime a dozen best player on a bad team.
There is a real chance the basketball program is gone for good. Squandered by D'Argenio and Siena leadership over the last 15 years.
If Courtney gets a scholarship and Carm is still the coach next year I'll be done promoting and supporting Siena basketball and the MAAC after 40 years until something changes.

Carm is delusional and as arrogant as they come. Doesn’t own this mess and should be FIRED!. Darg needs to go and should be treated the same way they treated Hammer! I have never seen the lack of support from the community as I have this year. They can give the bullshit attendance figures when we all know it’s 1,500 to 1,800 even with Manhattan. Belber must be ready to send the Saints back to campus as they are losing on this dumpster fire.
Carm as you read this board do us all a favor and resign! Not renewing my 4 season tickets if Carm and Darg are still around. Additionally bragging about recruiting, which is part of your job, will only bring in Division II talent we have been watching.

Soup, no issue with your comments about HC but calling one of our kids "trash" and putting up a "fails" video is unnecessary IMO. No disrespect intended

Yikers, Carm just doesn't care! If the school retains this 🤡 set him up with some public relation classes. Things not to say to the beat writer 101.
"I could care less what place we finish..."

He really can't lack that much intelligence, can he??? Who is coaching this guy? He needs a mentor in more ways than one. His team has not played good basketball or been ready to go all season, heck even back to the end of last season. What is he talking about???

Neither (SD and GE) play has shown the ability to play a winning style? Both have had 30 point games this year. SD has had numerous 20+ point games. I'll acknowledge the coach hasn't put these guys in a position to win. Some of these players are fairly good and if we had a decent coach you'd see that. You're letting the record cloud your judgement. We're also short a really good PG to break the press, run the offense and deliver the ball to teammates appropriately.

I don't like seeing the picture of Carm at the top of the home page of this site. Can he be removed, or a large "x" drawn through him?
