We need to hope Ed Cooley calls Carm and tells him he needs an associate head coach for $500k per year and get Carm out of Albany. He is going to give Courtney Mason a scholarship - that kid is the poster boy for Carm's tenure - and they will win 4 games next season. Never know CM may be Carm’s best hope next year. 4 and whatever coaches don’t usually get the best picking. As 71 said they need a boatload of cash to buy a team for Ca4m.

Curry Hicks Sage who’s a college basketball coaching search guru spoke about Siena a bit last night on a twitter space. He mostly said what’s been discussed on this board. From what he is hearing all the money people want Carm out. D’argenio is undecided especially given the fact that Carm’s buyout will limit the pool of candidates they can pursue. He threw out a few names Siena could get on the cheap including Will Brown and Princeton’s Associate HC Brett MacConnell. Not much news just thought I’d share. x.com/curryhickssage?s=21&t=EHT1hEosr60fzeym4yjZ4A

He’s not getting a scholarship next year. If he’s retained Carm is going to blow up the roster.

As far as blowing up the roster; Carm/Siena aren’t asking anyone to leave. What Carm will have to work with are the open slots from the portal entires. I highly doubt that anyone with a current scholarship and that wants to stay is getting it yanked. He’s blowin’ up nuttin’…

Your obsession with Mason Courtney is strange. I just told you, he is the poster boy for Carm's negligence running the program. And the kid is definitely getting a scholarship. Once that happens, my 40 years of supporting and promoting the program will be over until everyone associated with the current team, and the AD, is gone.

This is what Carm is running out there. Carm is going to give this a scholarship.

The fact that D'Arg is undecided because he will face a limited pool of candidates is laughable. The fact he has the confidence that he will be around to make such a decision is a disgrace. He should be shown the door before Carm. It's the same old D'Arg game plan: Hire a coach, give the coach an extension based on mediocre results, watch the program falter in the MAAC Tournament year after year, buyout the coach and start the same process. Four men's basketball coaches since Fran left and not 1 NCAA Tournament appearance. Yet, the man doing the hiring somehow keeps his job and gets promoted for being mediocre on his best day. BOT needs to grow a set.
But all this discussion about a new coach and AD is a moot point. Both will be back for next season. I have no clue as to what the roster will look like. Just glad I gave up my tickets when they hired Christian, not that mattered to the school. I was told as much when I let them know I wasn't happy with another what I thought was another poor decision for a head coach.

Siena's Maciariello: 'Why would I not be' back next season". "So I think one bad year and then we compete for a championship again next year and we still have some games to play this year," Maciariello said.

Oh he’s one arrogant SOB! Per the article: "Nope, not to my knowledge," said Maciariello, asked if there's any reason to think he'll be fired at season's end. "None." "I have two years left (on his contract)," Maciariello added. "I've been in meetings about what we're doing next season, and who we're playing next season, and scheduling and roster management, and from A to Z." Maciariello, a Shenendehowa graduate, pointed out he was in Texas recently on a recruiting trip. "I'm not sure they'd let me spend all this money I am on recruiting and traveling if I'm not the guy," he said. "And why would I not be? I've won two (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) regular-season championships and finished in the top three for four straight years." “we do the best we can with guys that are available and we look forward to just putting a good product on the floor “ He goes onto blame injury and touts his finishes in the top of the MAAC. They asked Siena president Chuck Seifert for a comment he deferred to the dinosaur yes man AD and gave some canned BS response that basically paid lip service to the fans and contained nothing of any substance. Siena’s administration is as much to blame as anyone over the last 14 years for the lack of results. It’s embarrassing!

Siena's Maciariello: 'Why would I not be' back next season". "So I think one bad year and then we compete for a championship again next year and we still have some games to play this year," Maciariello said. Worst team in the history of the program is reason enough. When you consider that Beyer was left with a terrible roster and Carm recruited a roster that was worse is quite an indictment. Add to that that the MAAC is much more depleted than it was in Beyer's tenure. Total and absolute failure. Yet he will be back next year to try to reconstruct the program. If he doesn't cut all the current DII and DIII scholarship players and replace them with real DI talent next year will be a repeat of this year. 1-13 has to be DI talent. If he want to keep 14-16+ with DII walk-on go for it. Every team needs scout team players. I love MC's effort, but he is not a DI talent. Unless recruiting shows me that a team capable of competing for the MAAC championship (unfortunately not a super high bar at this point) I'm out next year.
