With both Burdine and Poole looking good, we have a solution at the 2, while the other starts at the 3. Audu and Oliver have potential too. Don't discount them because of anything you saw under Mitch. If you wanna get back to the 23-25 win program, we need those 3 players. I don't care if God is coaching the old roster of kids. Burdine and Poole aren't guards. They're both small forwards. I'm talking athletic explosive 6'2" kids in the backcourt. We need two of them, badly. I don't care what position they play - the single most important piece of any mid major team is a player that can create his own shot out of nothing from the perimeter. Ubiles, and (at least againt mid-major level defenders) Hashrouk and Franklin could all do this. You cannot say the same for any player since. Brookins comes the closest but is too undersized and preoccupied with getting to the rim. A big athletic 2 or 3 that can handle the ball and knock down mid range jumpers that he self-creates is priority 1. After that a pure point guard is next most important. You need at least one other guy that can just catch and shoot from thunder deep and hit 40 percent of his threes and be "good enough" on defense and one guy that can play great interior d and rebound. A great post scorer is a perk at the mid major level, but not necessary or sufficient to have success at this level.
