I wouldn't hold your breath on any potential difference maker being readily apparent. At this late date recruiting someone like that is usually a pleasant surprise. See McCaffrey's firstly class above where he went 1 for 4. We'll see who the 3rd and final 2018 recruit ends up being, but JC may be already be ahead of where Fran's first class was for all we know.

No comment. Don't wanna ruin the party out here. I've seen him play a dozen times in person. Anyone else?! JC took a major step back today. š¢ He looks like heās only playing because his father said he couldnāt play volleyball. No passion or energy when he plays. Be interesting to see how long he lasts. I donāt believe the other interests or offers at this point. Everything I have heard is that they all moved on. Why do you think he commited when he did. His options were dwindling down.

We got a lot of good minutes out of Steve Downey and he could certainly be put in the category of "lacking passion" (with the exception of the front and possibly back seat of a Cadillac!) - hard to grow a big but you can coach a big and grow his game - as they say, we are now a little bit pregnant and we'll have to wait several months to see what develops - I am optimistic that JC will ignite a spark or extinguish a scholarship...

Steve was 7' and a GREAT athlete. The desire comparison is pretty accurate.

He has size-- cant coach size. We need players it's mid may-- I'll remind everyone Fran's first 4 recruits were Braga, Osby,Diop and Kenny- So 1 for 4. If Degan doesnt come back ( is it confirmed?) Or Friday cant handle JC's system, you guys would kill JC for not getting another big man. Anyway Welcome Sloan!! Amen.

An eye witness once told me that during halftime of some Cuse game, Boeheim was laying into Craig Forth for his performance and concluded his tirade with "You should have gone to Siena!" Still makes me giggle.

Still makes me giggle. And yet he started 134 of 136 games during his career at Syracuse. He didn't have great stats but fit the need of a big body for the middle of their zone.

I like Huerter for his shot-blocking and the fact that he is quick to come to the aid of a teammate in a ruck. But he doesn't shot like Seymour. Sloan will realize the first week of JC's practices that he ain't at Shaker anymore.

Sloan will realize the first week of JC's practices that he ain't at Shaker anymore. Yes, I'm not so sure that Seymour is even better than Huerter yet. He's more experienced and seems to do a lot of the things JC would need him to do. Maybe Seymour has a better shot, but I'm not so sure that Huerter doesn't best him in every other category. I feel like once the lights go on Huerter will be ahead of him on the depth chart.

With JC on his honeymoon any chance this was a signing by "Mike from Clifton Park" instead of the HC. Not complaining necessarily.

Saw him twice wasnāt overly impressed with his motor or toughness. However heās big and can shoot. Obviously thatās a long list of decent programs that saw something at one time. Maybe coach gets this kid motivated. Canāt teach size and ability to shoot it deep. Iāll need to see what coach does with SS before condemning. With that said still waiting for that difference maker recruit. "Decent programs?" My thread on this says it all. HIGHEST RECRUIT EVER. I challenge anyone to show me a list of any recruit, in the history of the program, with a better list than the one Seymour, allegedly, has. All Iām saying is other āupā programs thought enough about him (potential) to offer at one point in time. I agree when I saw him last year he looked āsoftā to say the least. Apparently JC thinks he fits his system. The kid had offers from solid programs but those offers didnāt result in a LOI/commitment. Obviously those offers fell off precipitously or were āconditionalā.... What we had here are offers based on perceived potential, the question is can it be developed. Right now heās young and soft. Maybe JCs training adds weight, strength and toughness. For all the offers heās still only a 2 star recruit and therefore not the highest Siena has ever recruited.

Let's not get carried away here folks. He is a 2 Star recruit: verbalcommits.com/players/sloan-seymourTime will tell what he can develop into under JC and his coaching style. 6'8" outside shooters who are the son of a former D1 Coach are going to get looks and recruited by D1 programs. That does not mean his is going to be a superstar or even a contributor on a big time programs roster. It is good to see a local kid on the Saints. Going to give JC the benefit of the doubt that he know what his is doing and will be bringing in the players that he need to in order to win at Siena. He was able to do it at the Mount so not reason he won't be able to do it for the Saints.

Some are saying he has the size and shooting ability to be a valuable member of a winning team. Others are being more negative.
