Severe shoots every time he touches the ball...the pressure he puts on the opposing backcourt makes the difference. .Saints needs to contain him on the perimeter and not allow him to penetrate and draw fouls on the frontcourt players...he is so aggressive offensively that will not be an easy task..looks like the key to victory. Agreed PPC-- Fordhams back court is good- we are never going to stop them- we just need to make them 'work" to get their points- they are good foul shooters so have to keep them off the line- this is a game Siena is probably going to have to score 80 to win If Siena can shut down the country's leading scorer (Mason), they can shut down at least one of Fordham's high scoring guards. The team can't get into a shootout with these guys because we Siena doesn't have shooters. The key is playing defense and wearing them down by making them work. This is where Siena's superior depth comes in. Fordham's starters all play a lot of minutes because they have no depth. Then pound it inside to take advantage of Siena's superior size. I expect Poole to have a big game in this one because Fordham doesn't play defense. Long should be poised for a big night too because I don't see who they have that can stop him. On the flip side, their 4 guard offense concerns me that Siena's big lineup is too slow to guard them. I fear Siena will be fouling a lot as players reach in when their man blows by them.

I have seen marked improvement from the reach ins...I worry more about the guards letting Fordham penetrate and get into the lane and the frontcourt picking up fouls protecting the rim...The long wings we have can closeout on shooters out to the 3pt line...

It will be the frontcourt's job to distract around the rim without fouling every time. They are worth more on the court than the 2 points, especially in this game.

Rams score 86 pts and lose. I don't think we can score 86 pts...so our defense has to do better than harvard...Harvard scores 94 pts...Rams defense is questionable. Should be a good game.

The hole team need to step it up guard and forwards. It a team games. Everyone has a job...I agree with you...My point is that the first line of defense vs Fordham's high scoring guards is our backcourt defense whether its man or zone....we have a better chance to win if they are contained on the perimeter rather than relying on help D from the frontcourt players and risking foul trouble

The team will have their hands full.

Our guards are hardly ever in foul trouble....its our front court that end up with most of the calls...

Our guards are hardly ever in foul trouble....its our front court that end up with most of the calls... This agrees perfectly with what I just wrote...in other words, our opponent's guards frequently get past our guards, leading to the front line fouls that you mention...

And with the aggressive offensive play from the 2 Fordham guards we have to do better in that area was my point..we have a better chance if the backcourt D can at keep those guys out of the paint..and limit the foul count in the frontcourt

Siena opens as a 1 point favorite. Very interesting. The odds makers must be thinking Fordham is going to have an off night. I just can't see Siena out scoring them. Siena wins if they can keep it in the 60s .

I hope they are right, they usually are so it should be a close game. Another A10 team St.Louis. is on the road tonight at Vandy and is favored by 3.
