Looks like it will be a good game and fairly even matched but they have to play Harvard tomorrow. Good time to be catching them especially at home

This will be a tough game for sure. Fordham is 7-4 and averages 77 points per game. They've won at Manhattan and lost at Monmouth. Using Sagarin about a pick 'em game.
Likely Fordham starters are:
Brandon Frazier, 6'3 Sr. 17.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG 4.5 APG Jon Severe, 6'3 Fr. 20.1 PPG Mandell Thomas, 6'2 So. 14.3 PPG, 6 RPG Ryan Rhoomes, 6'8 So. 8.7 PPG, 7.2 RPG Bryan Smith, 6'2 Jr. 7.7 PPG, 5.6 RPG
Fordham doesn't have a ton of size and aren't very deep so hopefully we can use that to our advantage. Having JO back in the mix should help.

IMO, Siena has a deficieny in guarding oppossing guards because of lack of height and/or lack of experience. And then when Oliver plays, his injury history has made him kinda deficient in this area. So, facing a team like Fordham, who has good guards is very problematic in our efforts to get the MAAC another win. I will be praying real hard for Siena to win, hands clasped and all, but unfortunately, I see Fordham winning by 6-8 points:(.

I predict we see a lot of White on Monday. This is where Audu could help. I worry about Lavon having to guard a smaller quicker guard.

I'm hoping to see Lavon use his size and power to over-power that small guard. Let's beat the crap out of these guys on the boards. I want to see Lavon take it to them inside, multiple possessions off the offensive boards, that's how we win Monday night, over-power them.

Fordham game is big for several reasons- A win over Fordham will give us a final non-conference record of 4-7 and given the youth of this team and difficulty of schedule I think most would have signed up for that to start the season. A win will keep home court winning streak going and more importantly establish fact Siena will be able to beat any MAAC opponent on their home floor . Fordham has been a bit of a jekyll and hyde. They have lost to Monmouth and beat Manhattan on jaspers home floor. Rams have a lot of talent – they are however not deep- they rely on a 3 headed monster of Severe, extremely talented freshmen we have to stop from “going off” Branden Frazier and Mandell Thomas—all 3 of them play 35 min or more a game – all 3 about 6’3” on one hand we might struggle with their height in backcourt on other hand Rams have to guard Poole and Long—and could be very difficult, in fact Rams could struggle with our size across board. Rams playing today at home vs Harvard- so they will have very little turnaround time before coming to Albany . Saints will have to play better than Hofstra game, but a game if we play well we can most definitely win. Rams dont like to play defense, but they can score. If game is close with 5 min to go Saints should win as Rams have tendency to run out of gas late in games

My biggest concern in this game is the fouling situation. If Siena can limit the silly fouls that have plagued this team at times this year, they've got a great chance to win. Arguably Fordham's two best players - Frazier and Severe - shoot the bulk of their free throws and Frazier hits at better than 90%. Severe is around 78%. These guys can gobble up points late in half or late in game when opponents are in the double bonus.

I'm puzzled by the comments I'm seeing about being concerned with Fordham's guard size. Wright at 6'0 is the only player shorter than 6'5 that Siena starts, and White at 6'3 is one of the first guards off the bench. Seems to me like they will have issues with our size, as they have to guard Long, Bisping, and Poole. Sure when Hymes comes in he's a defensive liability - but they have to chase him around with tired legs while he's fresh. If Monmouth can beat these guys, then Siena sure can.
But how about that Jon Severe? Now that's the kind of player I'd love to see Patsos recruit. How the hell did Fordham land him? Surely there must have been quite the recruiting battle over him.

Don’t know how Fordham landed Severe- but you have to figure he has some “baggage” Fordham is working with very little- no basketball tradition ( in these kids lifetime anyway) antiquated facilities, little attendance not much media coverage—no practice facility- other than membership in A10 and Bronx location Fordham doesn’t have much going for it from a men’s basketball POV . Severe is a very talented player but he shot his mouth off before St Johns game saying Johnnies should have recruited him—of course that pisst off St John players who held him to something like 1 for 21. One other tidbit of note.,.. like many small attendance teams that play in a gym – Fordham is 0-2 playing in front of a crowd in an arena—albeit both of those game were against good teams ( Cuse and ST Johns)

Would be great if Jimmy established a relationship with my old HS Christ the King (Severe's school) ... They have consistently developed Div I players both girls and boys ... Ali landed perhaps the second best senior girl for next year

Severe was recruited by A-10 schools and a few BCS schools but he wanted to stay home. He was influenced by his grandmother who retired from the academic field and stressed academics, which is why he chose Fordham. plus it was thought to believe he was promised a starting spot and as you see his stats he is given total freedom to shoot whenever he wants. he has had a couple St. Johns like shooting games. They also used the selling point of Eric Paschall, a BCS level recruit, coming next year who also chose Fordham because he wanted a good school and wanted to stay home. Fordhaam also has 6'8'' Ryan Canty back on the team after he left the team earlier this season. This is a game Siena should win. will be interesting to see who Patsos matches up with Frazier, Thomas and Severe. The versatility of this team and the Poole at sg and Long at sf lineup will be tested in this game. IMO, Fordham is a top 5 team in MAAC so this will be a good game to see where the Saints stand heading into league play. This game could very well end up in the 80's

good for rams looks like Pecora is doing some good recruiting nypost.com/2013/11/13/fordham-nabs-another-stud-with-paschall-signing/ and doing a little digging on Severe apparently he is about 6'1" not 6"3" which played a major part in him ending up at Fordham- he had a lot of interest from majors..( but several didn't want to pull the trigger on him due to his height) will be interesting to see how tall he is Monday night--might just be sour grapes from schools that missed on Severe

And yet look at who they are attracting. I don't think anyone can deny that league affiliation alone gives them a recruiting leg up on programs like Siena, which trumps Fordham in every other way. Siena would likely not ever be in play for guys like Severe and Paschall while in the MAAC. Ubiles is the only Siena recruit I can recall who comes close. I'd like to see Patsos land Taplin - that would be pretty close to what Pecora has been pulling off in the Bronx. If Pecora keeps this up. they won't be in the A-10 basement for long. He sure as hell wasn't recruiting this well in the CAA, so league matters.

Fordham also has the academic reputation that MAAC teams don't have Sienafan. That means something as well to many kids and their families.
