Coyle did have other offers. In addition to Siena and UMass, he was also offered by Albany. As a for looking for the very best players, if they're all fickle headcases that end up at 3 different schools in 4 years, it's not worth it. And that seems to be where the sport is mostly headed. Better to try to build a roster that's consistent. A team full of transfers plus one and dones every season isn't going to work. They tried it last season and you saw how terrible the team was until it meshed. I for one am glad Carm's trying something different in order to operate in today's college hoops reality. I don't want teams that annually suck until January. So let's see if doing it this way bears any fruit. Maybe it won't. But let's not knock it until we've tried it and it's a failed experiment. That's all I'm saying. It has failed. Not only has it failed, it’s one of the many things Carm has done that should lead to his exit.

Sienafan - I think 2-? is a failed experiment. Unless this team goes on a 15 game win streak I can't see how we pull out of the dive. Also note, other mids seem to be adjusting OK.
Also regarding ". I don't want teams that annually suck until January. " I'll note that Saint Fran fell into this category...even with our good teams. I'd prefer to kick @$$ all season but if I need to make a tradeoff I'll take that one.

Teams today need minimal freshman and majority multi-year transfers with a few grads sprinkled in.

They were 5-4 his first season, then 6-5, then 7-4, 8-4, and finally 9-4. I think we would all be thrilled with that level of sucking. Since then Patsos went 8-5 in 2015-16 and Carm matched that last year and those have been the only seasons Siena has had a winning record prior to January since sucky Fran.
