The only way to stop it is to stop going to the games or watching them on tv. It's your choice.

Ohio St football coach this week,”we need $15 million to keep our roster intact!” It’s getting out of hand Is the NCAA requiring any kind of reporting on where the money is coming from and how much a player is receiving? I would assume they would want to be able to monitor this at some level.

Cats out of the bag, not sure how you put it back in, this wasn’t the best move for what was once “amateur” athletics. Unfortunately it’s been a big business for quite some time & everyone wants to be compensated.
This will probably lead to a division between the P5/6 program$ and everyone else, I don’t see how things can continue as is with everyone has under one D1 umbrella. Hoops will probably eventually see some kind of a divide like NCAA football with FCS / FBS.

Basketball has more than enough schools to split divisions and keep March madness by inviting teams from outside the power 5/6 if they have a kenpom of 60 or better.

I'm not sure it will be that bad. You'll have a few teams that are forever dominant ... but they mostly already are. They aren't going to be making payments to the 10-13 guys on the roster. Plus there are only 13 guys on each team. If a coach can't find 3-4 players out of the tens of thousands of D1 caliber players that's on them.

Are there any restrictions around it? It's technically illegal to lure recruits with NIL cash, right? It's going to be AWFULLY hard to distinguish that. Before this, ANY cash was illegal. You may not always have found it before, but if you found ANY, that was a serious violation. When is it ok to give (or even offer) a kid that NIL now? These kids are ALREADY getting an education worth upwards of 70-80K. Is that not worth quite a lot right there? It's just a HUGE can of worms, to put it lightly. I don't disagree that players should get SOMETHING. Was never right they couldn't take PT jobs or accept $$ for rides home or spending money, etc. It just seems like little thought was given to the implementation of the plan.

Underdogs , the first couple of rounds & the occasional St Pete’s FGCU Loyola Chicago is what makes the tournament fun. A tournament with no auto bids from each conference with 60 P5 & 4 mids schools (sure it’s good basketball) isn’t what made this tournament special. Unfortunately the entertainment value just isn’t the same.

If the NCAA ever changed the tournament format to only include the high major conferences or split into two separate tournaments based on P5/6 and everyone else; I’d probably stop watching the tournament the MAAC wasn’t in. That’s just me, I live for the upsets. 🙂

As long as they have 64 teams and people can fill out brackets the NCAA tournament will be ok. Still will have 4 #1 seeds and 4 16 seeds and plenty of chances for upsets.

Just saw Singelais retweet this…..Crazy!
The Division I Council is recommending that the NCAA get rid of the “one-time” part of its transfer rule.
Anyone would be able to transfer and have immediate eligibility, if they meet academic standards. Athletes could transfer multiple times and play right away.

When you have 350+ teams what do you expect. Go down to 250 D1 basketball schools and then limit transfers and if you do transfer you sit for a year.
