Yeah I figured at least 1 year possibly 2 more left. Money talks. Patsos got a sweet guaranteed deal.

Another thought: JP obviously can’t come back with the same staff. Who is gone? Manning is JP’s right hand man, would D’Arg force Manning to move on? Watson seems most expendable, need a good game coach perhaps with HC experience to replace him. Abe is a good guy and a really hard worker, I hope he stays around. Well we had Tobin Anderson what happened to him? Tobin in a winning head coach and way too intelligent to come back to this fustercluck under so-so...

Kudos to Singelais for conducting the interview and asking the questions that I posted here last week needed to be asked and answered. Who was the fellow poster that roasted me for suggesting that JD be asked these questions by the local media? Well they have been asked and answered. Assuming that JD was being truthful, like it or not, at least we know who is coaching the Saints next season. It was me and to an extent you have been proven right and I was wrong. For the record, as I said in my comments, and I meant it, I wasn't trying to be ugly or argumentative. Obviously, you ignored that part of my comments. The endorsement comment from an AD is most common in-season statement. I do have to give credit though that it appears they are publicly putting him on a hotseat and trying to offer fans, boosters and sponsors a little hope. The question is will folks take another year of this fustercluck?

Not sure they can afford me as an assistant, ha. Maybe do it, as a you know, a hobby. Maybe Jimmy should just read the pre-game scout on Sienahoops.com and he'll be good to go.

Well I believe Mark posts on here from time to time... perhaps he can tell us how this article came to be? I'll give Mark credit for interjecting his own thoughts between the quotes but make no mistake, this wasn't a result of him asking the right questions, it was a calculated move by the Siena administration to make this announcement now so it won't impact recruiting. Actually the way SoSo and his agent have played Darg and Siena to date it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they just did it again. Scare Siena into thinking they'll lose everything if they don't endorse SoSo, of course Darg takes the bait....

Was not stating we should ask him back just pointing out the obvious—/ we have had these types on staff and still can’t win. At some point (hopefully 20-21 Siena finally sees the light and realizes the common denominator to all the losing is..... drumroll...... Jimmy Patsos.

I guess I have to look at the bright side (and it's 80 and blue sky sunny with Gulf temps near 68 today - perfection in Paradise), we can now look to come down next year in early January and stay through 3/1 and booking it will be easier from here. Anyone looking for a good seat in 106 for next year, mine will be open as will the not yet sold seat next to mine. The Saints ain't March-in in but this fan is March-in out. Has to be alarming for Siena how many long-time fans are bailing. This is why D'Arg is almost certainly gone. Mike - you really have to stop these posts that you are 'certain' of. I could probably dig up 20 posts you said Patsos is almost certainly gone after this year, because Siena did not have to pay out his contract. You and Jomo went down that road on the other board. Neither you nor I nor anybody else here, know with any certainty when either of these guys will be gone. It is strictly your wishful thinking.

I've been a Siena fan since the mid fifties and this by far is the worst shape the mens basketball program has ever been in. I am so sick of reading the bullshit that is being put out by the Siena Admin. I will always continue to be a fan of Siena basketball but I will no longer fatten their wallets in any way, shape or means with my money. As mentioned earlier I will cherry pick certain games and get the $5 seats just so I can satisfy my appetite for Sapienzas Pizza every once in a while and I'll watch or listen to the other games from home.

I will not renew my 4 tickets. I’ll just by $5 tickets and sit wherever I want if I want to see a team like this play - and I don’t. This is embarrassing. D’Argenio’s comments are so disingenuous and insulting to the Siena family.

Wow just effing wow! I wanted to read everyone's comments to get a feel for what the thoughts were before reading the article. Darg definitely talked out of both sides of his mouth. The first comments clearly left the door open to fire JP at the end of the year. I know many of you didn't read it that way but I definitely see wiggle room there for the review to turn things.
wtf Darg #1 - Bucknell, College of Charleston and Florida Gulf Coast - are too challenging??? OMG, do I have to say anything else here other than Darg must go if the school hopes to resurrect the program.
wtf Darg #2 - there are no graduating players and the one scholarship being vacated by Nico is already claimed and your are talking about him getting more players "We need more players. We need people that can match up with the other teams in the league." So there we have Siena's AD on record basically encouraging the head coach to chase kids off the team!
I will still follow the program for a couple years because there's a young man on the team my family and I care about but otherwise I am truly done until SoSo & fukhdDarg are gone, gone, gone!

I think they know he’s not the answer long-term (they’re not dumb but think we are) but this ridiculous contract is too much to overcome. Just like they screwed up giving Mitch 4 years guaranteed contract they did not learn and did it again. I truly believe next year will be it unless he has a big year that last year is not guaranteed and I’m confident in saying that. They will eat one but not two.
