Jimmy maybe needs a stronger #2 asst. A strong, analytical Xs & Os guy who can temper Jimmy's energy and emotion. Someone to help him with rotations and a 'grand scheme' strategy.
Manning played for Jimmy. He learned basketball from Jimmy. He's probably incapable of bringing complimentary strengths to the staff. He's probably more just an extension of Jimmy's own voice.
I don't know which assistant would go as maybe they're all doing ok in some aspects...I don't know. I just think Jimmy maybe needs an outside the box thinker in his ear.

Actually the way SoSo and his agent have played Darg and Siena to date it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they just did it again. Scare Siena into thinking they'll lose everything if they don't endorse SoSo, of course Darg takes the bait.... Not sure what you mean. How would they "lose everything"? Something like this from jimmy's agent: "Darg, Jimmy has these great kids lined up but they keep hearing he's going to get fired. We really need these kids and the Siena sponsors are getting restless. Everyone needs to hear from you that the program is in good hands and that Jimmy will be here so we can land these recruits."

Wow just effing wow! I wanted to read everyone's comments to get a feel for what the thoughts were before reading the article. Darg definitely talked out of both sides of his mouth. The first comments clearly left the door open to fire JP at the end of the year. I know many of you didn't read it that way but I definitely see wiggle room there for the review to turn things. wtf Darg #1 - Bucknell, College of Charleston and Florida Gulf Coast - are too challenging??? OMG, do I have to say anything else here other than Darg must go if the school hopes to resurrect the program. wtf Darg #2 - there are no graduating players and the one scholarship being vacated by Nico is already claimed and your are talking about him getting more players "We need more players. We need people that can match up with the other teams in the league." So there we have Siena's AD on record basically encouraging the head coach to chase kids off the team!I will still follow the program for a couple years because there's a young man on the team my family and I care about but otherwise I am truly done until SoSo & fukhdDarg are gone, gone, gone! Just took 10 min to re-read the whole thing again x 2. Agree totally with this interpretation. Talking out of both sides of his mouth. Remember Fran LOVED LOUDONVILLE two weeks before he went to IOWA (and I don't blame him for that, IMHO you always strike while the iron is hot). So....basically, D'arg exactly what are your KPIs for this 'end of the year discussion' with JP? Enlighten us, please. Then you go off making excuses...... WTF- the schedule is too challenging? We were blown out by MAAC teams too, so maybe we should drop down to D-II. We need more players? People that match up with other teams??? You are paying that windbag in charge over 400k to assess the landscape and go after those players. Hows that working for you? Because it sure as hell isn't working for many of your paying fans. No wonder the fundraiser fell to only 50% of goal.

I hope you’re right but sounds like JP is definitely coming back unless a booster out of the blue offers to buy him out. And I hope we can land some big kids but I doubt it with this staff, fool me once... After the season if JP doesn’t sign his primary targets and is halfway across the world I with be unmerciful on him.

Has to be alarming for Siena how many long-time fans are bailing. This is why D'Arg is almost certainly gone. Mike - you really have to stop these posts that you are 'certain' of. I could probably dig up 20 posts you said Patsos is almost certainly gone after this year, because Siena did not have to pay out his contract. You and Jomo went down that road on the other board. Neither you nor I nor anybody else here, know with any certainty when either of these guys will be gone. It is strictly your wishful thinking. I knew it wasn’t going to be this year, a long time ago.

Me too but MTS was certain. Since MTS no longer supports the Saints maybe we should limit him to 2 or 3 posts a day max? What do you think?

Who am I kidding Siena hoops is like crack to me 😂 Besides, I might be running this board soon anyway. lol I still am a fan but no longer going to get stressed over it. Maybe we’ll get back to the NCAAs in MP’s lifetime.

Didn't he post a week ago that he was DONE here? Edit: Just saw his last post. It's all good. Mike - You're a good fan, but try to tone it down withe the 'certainties'.

Count me out next year as a season ticket holder if JP is back. I am a Siena alum and 15 year season ticket holder but I cannot support the school continuing to pay a very large salary to a poor coach, lazy recruiter and an embarrassment to the schools principles. On the other hand, we should look at hiring (or even electing to a public office) JP's agent; there is someone who is REALLY talented!

Is anyone really surprised by this news? Did you really think Siena was going to buy out 3 years regardless of what D'Arg says about that not being a factor? If this had been year 3 of a 4 year contract, Jimmy would almost certainly be a dead man walking. This is about money, plain and simple. He'll have one more chance to right the ship and if not, he'll know what's coming. Let's see what that motivation gets us on the recruiting trail this time around.

Unfortunately, the recruiting success will be at the expense of a lot of friendly fire casualties....good kids tossed because of someone else's piss poor job performance over 5 years....unforgivable

Maybe wagers will help make the season interesting. Inane comment made, bet proposed, loser loses sienahoops posting privileges.
