A tad premature since Mitch hasn't been fired and we have no idea if any of these guys will be considered for the eventual opening, but this MAAC quarterfinal game is putrid, so I was taking a look to see where some of the coaches that have been mentioned on here as potential candidates stand in their current season. Andy Toole - Robert Morris - Lost today in the NEC semi's at home to Mt St Mary's 69-60. RMU won the regular season crown so they are NIT bound. Currently 23-10 overall. Dave Paulsen - Bucknell - Won at home 78-70 over Army in the Patriot Semi's. They get Lafayette in the finals. Bucknell is currently 27-5. In the event that they lose in the finals they would also be NIT bound as regular season champs. Brett Reed - Lehigh - Lost today in the Patriot semi's to Lafayette 82-69. They are currently 21-9 which is pretty darn impressive after losing McCollum. They will make their way into a postseason tournament of some sort I would imagine. Jeff Neubauer - Eastern Kentucky - Lost to Murray State in OVC semi's 81-73. They are presently 24-9 and will be in a postseason tourney as well. Big bounce back season for Neubauer, he had strung together a number of mediocre to poor seasons. Anthony Evans - Norfolk State - They finished the regular season 21-10 and a perfect 16-0 in MEAC play winning the regular season title. MEAC tournament doesn't kick off until beginning of next week. Think that is most of the DI guys that we have bantered about. Some lower level guys: Joe Lombardi - Indiana (PA) - Won the PSAC conference tournament today beating Slippery Rock. They are currently 24-5 and were ranked 13th in the country in the last rankings that came out the beginning of last week. They should be a high seed in d2 NCAA tournament. Chris Casey - LIU-Post - Were the 3 seed in East Coast Conference tournament and were upset in first round by 6 seed Dowling. Record is currently 18-9. Probably a long shot to make d2 tournament as an at large. Bob Walsh - Rhode Island College - Finished the regular season 22-3 and won the Little East regular season title. Went on to win the Conference tournament to improve to 25-3 and an automatic d3 ncaa tourney birth. Won their first round NCAA game against Hobart 62-59. Lost in the second round today to Morrisville State 66-61. Season ends with a record of 26-4. Mike Maker - Williams - Finished regular season 22-3 and second place in NESCAC finishing behind Amherst. Lost to Amherst in NESCAC conference title game. Got an At-Large birth to d3 tourney. Won first round game against Wesley and won second round game today against Catholic. Record sits at 25-4 and they are in the Sweet 16. how about throwing in Horn formerly of WKU?

I think we need a coach that has rebuilt a program before - was hired to replace a loser and turned a program around. Eliminates most guys.

Paulsen, Toole, Hurley, Pitino,...
Looks like Siena has some folks to choose.
Unlike three years ago...

Thanks saints.
Me mistaken though.
Beat on street is that Brady will entertain the Siena opening after JMU's season concludes. He would bring his staff with him.

Speaking of the Colonial Conference, what about Bill Coen of Northeastern? Wasn't he a candidate after Fran left? He has done an extremely good job in a tough conference at what many people consider a hockey school.

Anybody that was interviewed when Fran left should be reconsidered.......... Mitch had the lock on the job and nobody could stand up to the Iron Sheik.

I think Matt Brady would be a good hire, what about Al Skinner the former BC coach.

You've got to be kidding. Because the administration made an awful decision after Fran left means that they shouldn't reconsider the really good candidates that were passed over? That logic doesn't make any sense to me. BTW, Fran was passed over for Paul Hewitt the first go around and we all know how that played out the second time.

No to Brady and no to Skinner. Coen I'm so-so on but who knows if he wants to come even if Siena is interested. If we do get an A10 invite the candidate list will be even better I would imagine.

Coaches who were passed over have had 3 years to strengthen their resumes, while Mitch destroyed his.

He has done an extremely good job in a tough conference at what many people consider a hockey school. The CAA is something like 24th in the RPI. It is far from "a tough conference" currently. That it took the conference sinking to those depths before Coen could finally win it does not instill confidence.

I dont like Coen style of play ( more grind it out) but no doubt he has done a good job at NE.. as for interviewing earlier and then getting the job.. you guys do know Fran interviewed for Siena job ( I think when orr or Lanier got job) then got job 2nd time he interviewed
