The point is without Wright on the floor the team is exposed like Miley Cyrus at a photo shoot. The team is 0-4 when he fouls out as Mark Singelais said. Hopefully Patsos can find a way to keep him on the floor, even against more athletic teams. he can start by sitting him for a few minutes after he collects his 4th foul. Needed to save him for crunch time while we still had the lead. Made the same mistake by not sitting Poole in the second purdue game. Need to protect players from themselves or touchy foul calls by the refs. Jimmy did have Wright's replacement at the scorer's table ready to chech in. The problem was Wright picked up his 5th before there was any stoppage to sub. Sure Jimmy could have wasted a TO but per Jimmy the young players have to learn how to play with 3 or 4 fouls. They'll learn (hopefully come March or no later than beginning of next season). If we grabbed the rebound (like Jimmy said) Wright wouldn't have picked up #5 on reach in.

I was simply saying that I thought we were still in a possission to win this one without Wright in the game (even with playing like crap the last 7 mins). Think about it Iona had to play great and shoot lights out to squeak it out in the end. We were only down a possession or two the final min or two. Yes we were def in the game...2 misses and a turnover along with the unguarded 3's they hit did us in...Lavon entered the game for the first time in the 2nd half at the 7 min mark after Wright fouled out..it was a 1 pt game before Iona hit 2 straight z3's....def a winnable game...the kind we will be able to win now that the experienced players are getting more opportunities to contribute and carry the team over the hump down the stretch www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxhkr0kc3Wk&feature=youtube_gdata_playerwww.youtube.com/watch?v=7X3FvjmsTFY&feature=youtube_gdata_player

If Jimmy can waste a timeout :28 into the game, then he certainly can use one to make sure our MVP gets subbed out, and/or hears it face to face that he isn't allowed to foul the rest of the game!.

If I remember correctly Bob Beyer recruited Faison and Knapp, not Paul Hewitt.

I agree Jimmy could have sat Marquis when he got his 4th foul but I also can see gambling and leaving him out there too. We go up 4 points and potentially if we push it to an 8-10 point maybe that wins the game. If he takes Wright out with the lead we might lose it completely and all the momentum with it. I don't know what the right answer (well I do a combo guard named Sterling Taplin) but that's why Jimmy is paid the big bucks. I disagree re: not sitting. Your key player has 4 fouls with 9 mins to go I say you sit him and see how the game goes. I would rather gamble by going down a bit and then have him available with 2-3 mins left. You can always put him back in. He picks up that 5th foul and you just lost that luxury. I know it's Monday AM QB'ing now, but I've always been a proponent of the coach doing what he can to keep his guys available as long as possible.
