--- Poole is the 4th best player on our team. I have no idea what the love affair with him is for some of you. He wouldn't get 5 min a game on the NCAA teams 5 years ago. If he's our star, we 'll be lucky to win 10 games.
--- Wright, White and Long are the new big 3 and will win a lot of games here.
---Jimmy waited too long (10 min of the 2nf half) to play zone. Brown told his kids at half they were not to shoot any shot outside of 3 ft in the 2nd half, and they didn't til we went zone and had to. UA got into the bonus before the zone and wore our young kids down.
---White should play 30 min a game at the 2, Hymes is too soft, refuses to rebound (counted at least 4 he could have had if he made the effort), and can't cover me. Jimmy won't deal with that for long.
---I'm hoping this is the last game Bisping gets minutes over Wolfe. Sink or swim for him. Bisping doesn't help us in any phase of the game. Silas actually showed a little something, and can provide some inside presence.
---Oliver/White debate is over ppc, right? Lavon needs to get more touches.
---the "other" scholarship for next year was made clear tonight. We need two studs to go with our dynamite freshman class. Gonna be a tough year, but these ass kickings will pay its dividends the next few years.
---UA is decent. They'll have trouble with a team that really knows how to defend because they don't have real scorers either. I was glad Brown left #5 on the bench. He's their best offensive guard. "Beetlejuice" #3 must have made 12 FT's.

Good post agree with most- Siena lost this game on foul line tonight UA shot 28-36 while Siena was 12-23 hard to win if you get out shot at foul line by 16 points

More random thoughts:
Long had a good game but 0-4 from the line. In fact, outside of White who was dare I say "phenomenal" the team shot 1-9 from the line tonight.
Coach gave the opposition 2 points for free in a tie game with 5 minutes left. Luckily Puk missed the one-and one after the techs and Siena took another lead, but the Saints never recovered after Hooley's 3 put Ualbany ahead for good.
4-24 3 pointers is concerning, especially since they went 0-19 yes that's right 0-19 in the last 33 minutes of the game. I'd say that was just bad luck but it was also poor shot selection. Poole hit his first two and then thought he turned into Kevin Durant.
The team scored more than 37 points in the first half only three times last year.

I think your view on Poole is a little harsh. He played a pretty poor second half with many ball handling miscues and poor shot selection. However, one game does not a player make.
The Freshman showed promise, but if this team has any success this season it will largely be because of Rob Poole.

Since Jimmy has shown a "any-mistake-and-your-out" substitution pattern, Hymes might not as well play. He's scared to take a shot, whereas last year, he not only had the green light, he could get away without playing defense.
I get the "accountability" mentality with the subs, but it's already time to get down to 7/8 and run with it.
Starters are: Wright, White, Poole, Long and Silas.
Bench is: J.O., Hymes and Wolfe.
That's my 8, and we play hard as we can, win as much as we can, and get ready for next year. The talent is there, it's just inexperienced, so stop wasting time on guys that can't contribute to the programs big picture of succcess thats right around the corner.

He's a nice sub on a great team. The focal point of this team was obvious tonight, as it was on scrimmage Saturday, the new BIG 3: Wright, White and Long. Any success this team has THIS year will because of them, not Poole. If he can just make half his shots, and not turn the ball over so much (and stay on his feet;) he can help the three freshman get us some respectability this year.

I actually think Silas is better coming off the bench. Of course that's one way of not having to start four freshmen which Jimmy probably wants to avoid at least until later in the season. I agree on your top 8........Oliver/Bisping/Audu will fight it out for the 9th man. I agree even if this is only a 10-12 win season let's get these guys as much experience as they can possibly get to contend for the MAAC title next season and for the rest of their careers.

Did White look good in the scrimmage Saturday? Pretty sure he went scoreless in that one...oh right he didn't play. Poole played poorly in the 2nd half and he isn't the player expected to beat a guy off the dribble. But his poise and shooting typically elevates his game. Tonight it didnt in the last 25 minutes.

I agree with you in principle on the 8 guys, but they are going to have to learn how to play without fouling. As it is, both Ogunyemi and Long had their fourth foul by the 11 minute mark of the game. Ogunyemi didn't return until garbage time. Long stayed in and was still somewhat effective. Hymes and Wright both had 2 fouls in the first half-- Hymes picked up his second with 5 minutes to go while Wright already had 2 eight minutes into the game.

I said Scrimmage Saturday, not Exhibition Saturday White played GREAT that day, and i knew in that one hour he was the best 2 guard on our roster. Nothing tonight changed my mind, and hopefully not anyone elses! lol

Start, sub, who cares? they both play 20 min a game at center. And yes I thought Silas did more tonight than JO did. (Imoh had 11 rebounds!!!....JO* had ONE!!) *he missed a huge breakout with a great pass from Wright too. HAVE to finish those!!

I don't doubt white has a big upside. Love his tough demeanor and ability to drive the ball. With that said, he still has much to learn.
This will be the Freshmens team to run. Poole will play much better than last 20 minutes showed tonight and Silas Played decent but the Freshman have a spark about them.
I fear that the Sophomore Class Is a dead class walking. Look at the number of times they put up 10 or more last year. It was about matched in one game this year.
