The season is about to start, the Siena Fans will soon know which one of us is telling the truth. The truth about MSJ has nothing to do with how the season goes..Siena fans hope that I am right about him figuring it out..and if you were a fan you would too Being a fan does not mean you must ignore reality.

Maxpreps has Lavon Long having 71 fouls in 25 games , , , so if he had at least 4 fouls in 12 games and fouled out twice that is 50 fouls . . . that leaves 21 fouls in the remaining 13 games . . . I would say he is not foul prone

The reality is that game one is Nov 8th yet you want to go back and change history to prove a point...good luck with that..

If Lavon can avg the numbers he put up in Canada, and Siena ends up at or above .500 does it matter if he were to avg 4 fouls a game for the entire season? I don't think he will (he may avg 3 the entire season and maybe get fouled out in a couple) but like PPC says I believe he'll figure it out. He seems too smart not to be able to adjust.

I did not mention one word about MSJ. Just the facts from Max preps, 4 fouls in half his games and fouling out of at least 4 games. Not a knock but the reason some have a little concern and have posted about it He did not foul out of 4 games last year...maxpreps does not say that Facts are he fouled out of 3 games. Wilde Leake, Long Reach and Centennial. plus ther were 5 games with no personal fouls stats listed so the odds are he fouled out of at least one of those games. stop being so sensitive when a post is made not praising your son. Its not a knock, just a legit concern by some on this board.

There are 4 games where there were no stats for personal fouls listed.

I am stating facts straight from Max preps. If their stats are wrong take it up with them. I am not tagging Lavon on anything. This is a message board where posters state their concerns and points of view, sorry if they are not all pro Lavon. 70 fouls in 21 games is foul prone, especially against inferior competition and 32 minute games. By the way it also makes his other stats that more impressive in only 32 minute games. Just saying its something worth watching as he had some foul issues in Canada and against D-3 NJCU.

If Lavon gets 4 fouls a game and plays with the heart and intensity he did on Saturday I can live with that. Anyone at the game saw that the team was better with LL on the court. He's smart enough to feel out the flow of the game and JP is smart enough to pull him if need be. Give history from High School a rest, It's a new game with new rules for everyone this year. The playing field is level with the implementation of the new NCAA rules.

You guys are arguing over nothing really- We really don’t care if Lavon was in foul trouble in high school— OMG a high school player in foul trouble heaven forbid. All freshmen have to adjust how the game is called in college- Lavon is a bright young man- I have total confidence he’ll “get it”

Hoopsfan, not sure what you expect to happen based on your rehashing and spinning history. Lavon was recruited by folks who actually watched most, if not all, of his games during at least his last year in HS. If the "issue" you raised was real don't you think the staff would have noticed it and started working on fixing it when Lavon FIRST ARRIVED at Siena in June? If it was real and they thought they couldn't "fix" it, do you think they would have offered? The kid plays his heart out and does it extremely well as has been evidenced SINCE he arrived at Siena. Lavon made several of the most spectacular OB saves the other night (and the fact that our opponent was D3 has zero bearing on those plays) - he gave up his body and made well directed taps to open players or far enough down court to allow our defense to reset. Lavon will, by the nature of his game, foul but he is smart enough to adjust and I don't mean play the matador! If you are just posting to exhibit your skills at stat research and analysis that's great - we get it. If you are just trying to throw cold water on a fan base hungry for wins AND exciting fast paced play that's sad. If you are thinking the issue you are trying to manufacture would not be noticed and acted on by this staff shame on you - they know the game and, more importantly, they know their players (they see them every day - we don't).

Again- hoopsfan could care less what we had to say. He does not care about Siena or the basketball program- He is just looking to cause trouble! Again, I bet this f-er is from Albany, Marist or some other school! Just ignore him!

I couldn't agree more. PPC....I know it's really difficult, but just let it go when they try to bait you. Just let Lavon play, smile and shake your head!!!. My BIGGEST worry and what I love about the kid is he plays so damn hard we may have to have a 'bubble wrap' fundraiser so he bounces a little more when he hits the floor! Does under armor make a rubber crash garment?

As, Siena becomes a powerhouse again. We will see more people like hoopsfan. People who don't mind acting like assh*les and will go after players and other members. My message to them: Get a life- and ha ha ..be afraid ..because Siena will dominate the MAAC/UAlbany once again!
Let's have faith in the coaching staff! Any issues these kids have will be figured out-it's all about teaching and discipline. Both of which was lacking the last 3 years!
