A couple more thoughts: JO scored inside with both hands and blocked a bunch of shots. Wright is real smooth a didn't force any shots. We have a true point and a true center for the next 4 years. What we really need is a second shooter to emerge besides Poole - Hymes could fill a 3rd guard role and when hot will be the shooter. Hopefully White or Cole can be a shooter/scorer. Long is the glue guy and his hustle resulted in multiple great plays. Brett, Oliver, Audu looked like the role players they are and Brett and Audu didn't do anything to hurt us when they played. I was disappointed in Oliver a little. For a shooter he doesn't make a lot if shots.

Well the competition didn't seem to tough. These guys play very well together. PPC was right, Oliver and Audu look much much better in this system. Lavon and JO looked great. Would loved to have seen White play. Oh, Wolfe is as athletic as stated. These guys have strengths to build off of. We'll see what they can do Friday night but I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with a win.

This is a new era of Siena hoops!! To be serious who knows what to expect for the first real game but I think we'll be ready to go and get the W. I think UAlbany will have trouble with our press and athletic ability in the backcourt. Hopefully White's groin will be OK and he will be able to go. Go Saints!!!

I don't really believe in stats or numbers but here's the box score if you believe in that sort of thing. www.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2013-2014/sie1102.htmlWright, Hymes, Poole, and Long combined for 17 assists vs. 5 turnovers. Wasn't there but sounded like Hymes had some cobwebs...but he had 3 steals...and 16 pts. Wright-- 8 assists and only 1 turnover- Long 4 Assists 1 turnover. Evan had 3 assists and 3 turnovers--was yanked from game a couple times for typical Evan plays- On one play he makes a bad decision and drives and pulls up from 10 feet- shoots an air ball and complains to ref he was fouled meanwhile NJCU goes down other end and scored- already mentioned the time he coughed up ball-- offense sort of bogged down when he ran it.. I'll give him a pass because he just started practicing - but he will have to improve. I highly doubt he starts -- but he will play for sure

JO and Lavon will be beasts in the MAAC. They aren't the same team with them off the floor. Just a first half impression. What exactly is going on (I couldnt make it) w/ the not the same team comment! That scares the sh&& out of me. These guys should be playing like the globetrotters v. the generals. For god sakes it's a D3 team they're playing. They should all look like beasts/studs! Didn't mean to scare you. Just saying they are a better ream with those two on the floor compared to the other options, in my opinion. I agree Wright looked good as well.

Silas had 3 TOs in just 12 mins against an another lower level squad. He's still not over his lapses. If JO is gonna block just as many shots you have to go with him for offense. Hopefully, JO can get the rebounds against D1 bigs.
Still, 22 assists. That's no Mitch ball.

That team did steal the ball 270 times in D3 last year. Jimmy will get on him much like Downey did and keep him focused. I just don't know what to expect offensively out of White and Hymes doesn't have to be the PG. I'll take a 1 to 1 assist ratio out of our SG all year if he's putting up 16 a game. Cole would definitely give us another scorer but according to Kenpom he was less efficient offensively than both Brookins and Hymes last year overall so we can't expect he'll put the points up efficiently.

The competition will be much tougher Friday, bigger crowd, Albany County Championship, freshmen jitters thats alot for these guys to get into in their first game. I think we'll win but it sure as heck won't be a thumping.

What do you know or how much have you seen of ua? Handle your pressure... Can't wait... This is perhaps the most athletic ua has ever been in the back court... That's not hyperbole... Couple more days.

The problem with Hymes is his immaturity. Whining on the air ball while the game continues to the other end of the floor. He still does bone head plays and I just think he needs to grow up - will be way better off bench in spurts. When he plays point he dribbles too much and holds it too much . Ball needs to move quickly in this offense

I hear ya- but I dont relay on Ken Pom I use my eyes. Cole is one of the few players Siena has that can get his own shot off( White is the other)If Cole doesn't get the Waiver- I am 100% certain we will see 4 freshmen and Poole starting sooner rather than later. Having said that I expect both Evan and Imoh to play a ton of minutes. In Silas case coming off bench might actually help him- I think he is too pumped to start games and makes some foolish mistakes. Imoh (and Evan) both played much better in second half. As you know I am a fan of Evan and I think he will have a good year this year.

@marksingelais: Attendance was 1,069 for Siena's exhibition win over New Jersey City University. should have lied and said 33 more people attended and make the attendance 1102.

Most likely because no one has distinguished themselves.
