Saints get a Christmas Day commitment from Christian Wilson, a 6-6 Wing from the NYC era spending a year in JUCO at South Plains College. He’ll have 3 to play. Loved his game when I saw his prep school tape. Was first team All-NEPSAC Class B last year and averaged 23.8 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Here’s a link for his highlights from prep school last year; www.hudl.com/v/27fweP

Is he going to qualify? Haven’t we recently been down this road?

Is he going to qualify? Haven’t we recently been down this road? He was fully qualified out of high school, that’s why he can come after 1 JUCO year and have 3 to play. If I recall correctly he grew a couple inches from 6-4 to 6-6 during his prep year and wanted to try to get better offers. Had offers from Boston U, NJIT, Stony Brook, Columbia, and Holy Cross before deciding to go to JUCO. His JUCO (South Plains College in Texas) got a new coach after he committed so he hasn’t gotten many minutes playing for the #3 JUCO team in the country with tons of D1 players.

FWIW: there had been a tweet in my first post by Wilson announcing his commitment. That tweet appears to have been deleted. Could be nothing obviously but something to watch.

Maybe he didn't officially get accepted yet and the coaches told him to take it down til he does?? I'm happy he wants to come here. The rest is in the admissions offices hands.

And there lies one of the biggest challenge Siena has when competing against the likes of Iona, Monmouth etc. Can't have your cake and eat it to. Funny according to NCAA and Feds grad rate Siena BB is 83, according to school general grad rate 78, our completion is low 70 and down for BB. Make up your minds if you want to compete or drop down to D2 or 3.

Did this kid even visit? We dont have a good track record with kids who commit without visiting and frankly unless the kid has a gun to their head “accept offer now or it’s gone in 48 hours” why commit without visiting. Makes me wonder if the Johnson visit and his tweet are linked
