They out rebounded Hofstra with Rokas playing small more. Had they given Friday Fisher's minutes it could have been better.
Penn, Bentley, Smithen, Shivers etc.. these are GOOD rebounding guards.
Maybe Richard hurts us in that aspect when he's in but otherwise these guys are rebounding about the same as Fisher already. What on earth will we be losing?
Fisher sucks at rebounding. It's not like he helps the situation. Penn is almost outrebounding him.
In a spread the floor scenario Bentley would be much more effective as long as he's encouraged to DRIVE...as would Smithen.

You're just jealous that I have something more tangible and in-depth to say than 'these guys are un-athletic and suck.' The games Siena has played small, with the right lineup mix, and spread the floor... they've scored very well. It's not a coincidence. Bad coaching makes good players look bad. Newsflash-- Saints dont have a lot of D1 talent-- John Wooden couldn't win 18 games with this group. While athleticism isnt everything and you can hide a non athletic player or two - you can't have a team full of them. Don't really want to bust anyone's bubble but there is reason why Saints are getting smoked most games. This team cannot play man D ( too slow) and when they tried to press Vermont ( an AE team) Vermont mainly got layup or dunk other end. We dont force any turnovers and cough it up 16 or so times. Hey I'm up for trying anything, but you Cant make chicken soup out of chicken $hit I disagree Tony. Penn, Oduro & Clareth are all D1 talents for sure. I'll disagree with PPC about Richard but he's a fine shooting guard. Friday had 15 & 15 vs UL...D1. Shivers is solid. I think what you're seeing is the results of poor coaching / game prep / player development. Just as Hewitt took a horrendous Beyer team and turned them around, I think a decent coach could have these guys winning.

Could it be that he has a master plan for the MAAC not letting them see to much. Then switching up the offense for MAAC play😜.I think i saw in another post about JP studying the Syracuse zone.Like i said before only thing Siena has in common with Syracuse is New York S E A.I think his time would be better spent on OFFENSE.OFFENSE OFFENSE ONE MORE TIME OFFENSE I'm up for a good zone most of the time especially with the personnel Siena's had since Alex Franklin in particular graduated. So I don't mind them playing a fair about of it. Jimmy should be studying how Villanova played 4 out 1 in. This team should be a mix of Jimmy and Cluess. And maybe that mix equates to like a Jay Wright. By this, I mean, both get to the FT line AND spread the floor to get open threes. This team can shoot the three. They would draw attention out there and either the middle will be wide open for dribble driving or somebody is going to be open for the three. Jimmy just needs to push this team in that direction. They obviously aren't. In the Lehigh game and portions of the Hofstra game where the starting lineup was on the floor...where only 1 big stayed in...the offense looked wayyyyy better. It is no coincidence, AT ALL, that Penn got 11 assists playing with that lineup. The team had more assists than turnovers in those games. It is SOOOO blatantly obvious to me. This was exactly my worry before the season started, can Jimmy change his style of play? The answer through the first third of games is a resounding NO. If and when he changes we may see some better basketball and more wins. However changing the style of play is like dieting, it’s hard work and needs your constant attention. It’s very very easy to slip back into old comfortable habits regardless of the consequences. Time will tell.

What is his style though? Honestly asking... have watched it for 4+ years now and no matter what he says, most of the time, it is one on ones, a lot of dribbling and heaves as the shot clock expires... he may THINK he runs and offense, but what is on the floor most of the time is street ball.... he is nothing more than a chaperone to these guys, based on what I have seen..... takes them to eat, takes them to a museum on the road, makes sure they are all at the game (he did lose long a few times!!), beyond that, what else has he done? I would rather have a shitty system of grind it out games, like SPU has been, at least you know what to expect and it is a system you can recruit too... now, he is a drunk guy on AMAZON two days before christmas ordering whatever is left.

Will Brown has a system, he coaches to it and recruits to fit it, Rex on the other hand, I haven’t a clue as to what he’s doing coaching or recruiting wise. Looks like he throws $hit at the wall every season and see’s what gonna stick approach. That’s why one coach is successful and the other a failure.
