Heard today from a very reliable source that Lamb was very interested Inc coming to Siena. He came to agame at the TUC with his mother and sat behind the bench. It will not surprise many that this was a game in which Jimmy really went off on a few players, all within earshot of the Lambs. Afterwards, Lamb's mom told him he wasn't going to Siena.
Lamb, Nash and how many others are not or will not be at Siena because of JP? Answer: too many.

Players commit because of the coach. Lavon, Quis, and Brett (by not choosing to grad transfer) chose Patsos. You could also say Nico came because of the relationship he formed with the staff. Missing on a guy like Lamb certainly stings, but it's not like we were guaranteed to get him. Vermont is a great program with a great coach and great fans.
I still wish we could hear the full story on Nash. Not absolving JP from blame (he deserves plenty) but why is it that we haven't heard about communication issues with any other recruit, then 2 HUGE communication issues with one player. Have to believe at least a little of the blame for that has to go on Nash.
Do we have a great coach? No. Do we recruit as well as we should? Not always. But it seems like every player we miss, the haters come out in full force on JP. What about these quotes from Prince's prep coach about his recruitment:
""There were at least two or three (Siena) coaches at every game,'' he said. "They were always there. They were always letting him know they were his top priority. Then in June, when he took his official visit, that kind of sealed the deal for him a little bit. And then they even took the time out in August to come see his parents in Canada, so I think that really pushed the envelope open for him, was them being that invested that they would go all the way to Canada and sit with his family, his Mom and his brother and his Dad, and his parents felt very comfortable with the staff.""
That sounds like good recruiting to me.

Not surprising- Heard a similar type story about Bailey Patella, apparently Bailey and one of his parents were at a practice when Jimmy got into a huge argument with one of the bench players. A bunch of shouting going back and forth- that was end of any chance of Patella coming to Siena. Jimmy’s players all seem to “love” him, but no doubt it takes a special type player to play for him. Let’s face it Jimmy’s coaching “style” definitely affects his recruiting.

Calling Knicksaint a hater ... Some of you guys are such buffoons.
Knick has done more to support the program that most of the snowflakes combined ever will. Also, Knick has always been very measured when posting. So my advice is to pay attention and be a little more cautious in your criticism even if you don't like what Knick posts because for I and nearly all the long time fans have complete trust in Knick's credibility.
One more year until the next head-coach experiment begins.

Parents of recruits observe a coachs bad behavior and don't want their kid playing for him, but somehow you think they are reading these birds and making decisions. Maybe they use it to corroborate what they observed. Keep supporting the continuous vacationer

I agree that our coach is known for a style that isn't for everyone. Some players respond really well to it (Rob Poole, Brett Bisping) others don't. However, JP was noticeably softer on the team last season, except for the Canisius game in which he pretty much blew up on everyone. There are plenty of coaches whose style isn't meant for everyone (Bob Huggins, Bob Knight, the list goes on). These guys miss on some talented recruits as a result, but they find guys who fit their style. When you are known for being a very demanding coach, you have to find players who are willing to work hard and buy into the culture. This recruiting class seems to be full of hardworking kids who will buy in.
Also, it's not like the guys who have gotten significant playing time (with exception of Wormley) have been transferring to get away from evil JP. The guys who leave have been guys who got slim to no PT.

In that case, go to hell you rabid mongrel! Peace and blessings.

Seymour has no interest in Siena because of JP. This is from the family. I've met Sloan a few times. He's a nice (but very quiet) kid. It doesn't really surprise me that he wouldn't want to play for JP. I will echo my thoughts that I posted in the 2018 recruiting thread on Sloan. I have seen him play several times and I truly don't think he is as good as he is hyped up to be. While an outstanding shooter, he really doesn't bring anything else to the table. He is a liability defensively against some Section 2 teams, I shudder to think what would happen at the D1 level. He needs to add some significant muscle and some speed to make an impact as anything other than as a shooter off the bench. I think he needs a prep year in order to get ready for D1. I hope he blossoms into a nice player, but I haven't seen it yet. I was told by someone who saw Moll play against Seymour that he would take Moll "in a heartbeat" over Sloan.
