I totally agree. I see him as a Degnan like clone. No inner drive or mean streak. I like Moll's drive and team first attitude. It's truly sad to hear of family's say they won't allow their sons to play for Jimmy. He has been reigned in some but still needs a lot more harnessing. People asked me when JP was hired what I thought of him becoming coach. My response was I don't know if the kids will have thick enough skin to deal with him when he gets in their face. All the transfers bear out my feeling.

All the transfers bear out my feeling. That and from what I've been told the old adage of winning playing time in practice is not always true with JP - see Fisher, Gottfried, et al. When kids aren't getting a fair shake that too leads to your concluding sentence...

Jimmy is what Jimmy is and there are always going to be kids that aren't going to want to play for that sort of coach. I am fine with that. The bigger problem is of the subset of kids that do want to play for a coach like Jimmy, he simply isn't landing enough of them. He's landing a bunch of low major kids that may not want to play for a coach like Jimmy but Siena is their best (or only) offer. Those are the kids that are doomed to transfer from the start. He needs to have hit at least one home run with this class and if he's around past that he needs to finally hit a grand slam with someone next year. I haven't seen the Colonie kid play live but why does everyone think he is that kid you can build your program around? From what I can find he's just a nice local kid whose only offers are from the local schools. And the little video I saw of him it looked like he was working hard just to dunk on a breakaway.

Seymour has no interest in Siena because of JP. This is from the family. I can tell you the feeling of no interest is mutual. They made a token offer early, but really had no interest, and never would have taken a commitment. They do love his teammate Cook in the '19 class.

HJ. Was the lack of JP's interest because of Seymour's abilities or knowing the families interest level..

Calling Knicksaint a hater ... Some of you guys are such buffoons. Knick has done more to support the program that most of the snowflakes combined ever will. Also, Knick has always been very measured when posting. So my advice is to pay attention and be a little more cautious in your criticism even if you don't like what Knick posts because for I and nearly all the long time fans have complete trust in Knick's credibility. One more year until the next head-coach experiment begins. I agree 100%. KS is a great ambassador of the Siena program. If Jimmy doesn't have a big year and the incoming frosh aren't impact guys the Siena administration has no choice but to move on unless they want to completely kill the program.

This is all Patsos, he has no excuses, this is fhe team he's built. Sink or swim time. Lose this year and it should buy him a one way ticket out of Loudinville. He's on year five, he's 500 (which is no different than his lifetime MAAC record). Will this year hold true to form? Five years..... Five years is more than enough time to build a winner.

I know this won't satisfy some of you, but I would be perfectly pleased with an about .500 regular season this coming season. Our non-conference schedule will be very tough, so 5-8 would be perfectly acceptable there. Then, win 9-11 games in a weak MAAC, which should be enough for a bye. That would set us up for a run in the MAAC Tournament, but if we fall short. we could do a "C" tourney and put us on track to contend for a MAAC title the following year when we are more experienced.
One thing I will say: JP could easily ask to schedule cupcakes and get us to 20 wins more often and .500 basically every year (see Fairfield & Rider's schedules from this year for reference). That's why I will worry much more about our MAAC record this season than our non-conference.

So you're telling me a guy with a FOURTEEN year 500 track record is acceptable? If it is... You must be a relative! As far as not scheduling cupcakes, he's 500 vs MAAC competition as well, so that dog don't hunt! Mediocre is as mediocre does, history doesn't lie.....

What do you expect? Lost 4 1000 point scorers and a ton of minutes. I think .500 would be a great year. Anything over should be an extension and a major positive.

Drastically underachieved (until the conference tournament run at year end) with those 4 1k scores and seniors. Overall very disappointing season.

No one wins the MAAC after losing what we lose from last season. I'd love to have a guy like Fran back at the helm but that isn't happening. For the vast majority of mid-majors, the goal should be to contend for an NCAA berth every 2-3 years. We were close this year, and a .500 year (above .500 in MAAC play) this coming season would set us up to contend for the MAAC title in 2018-19.

HJ. Was the lack of JP's interest because of Seymour's abilities or knowing the families interest level.. The former. "Soft" was the term most used.
