. I don't want to speak for mts but I think he meant that Monmouth would have had a better shot than we did versus Iona. I do disagree and was glad Siena made it to the championship game. For awhile there was real excitement in the program. I do think Monmouth would have beaten Iona. That said we almost did and I'm glad we made the championship game. I guess I did not articulate it the best. Had we lost by 20 to Monmouth the hurt would be a lot less. Instead we got to Monday night and lost by a point in OT to a team that has the most titles in the league and owns us in March. That is brutal. It's like the basketball Gods wanted to torment us after a roller-coaster season - so close to the NCAA tournament yet so far. Last night was exciting but depressing too. Did Sean Spicer write this for you. Nice spin. LOL

If team chemistry can be developed the sum of the parts may become greater then the whole ... a lot of talent is leaving the MAAC we just don't know how our recruits measure against the others coming in ... should keep this board busy all summer into the fall

Don't sleep on Degnan. I think he will help a lot. Based on what? He couldn't get any run at Fairfield - a team that could have used some good big men last year with Sidibe out.

Fairfield tried to force a square peg in a round hole with Degnan. Wanted him to be purely a back to the basket big. He is a Bisping clone. Much more comfortable away from the basket. Also a sound high post option against a zone. I think you will all be pleasantly surprised with Degnan

I think you will all be pleasantly surprised with Degnan Bisping is the MAAC's best rebounder. If Degnan is more comfortable away from the basket, then he is no Bisping clone. That said, Degnan was highly regarded coming out of high school so perhaps he can contribute. I'm just hoping he's not an Evan Fisher clone, which is the impression his time at Fairfield suggested.

Fisher had a player efficiency rating of 2.3 this year after 6.7 last year. Our freshman class this year was also nowhere near Degnan: Friday - 15.4 Richard - 9.9 Shivers - 9.5 Huerter - 6.4

Also, Degnan per 40 minutes as a freshman averaged 16.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.9 steals, 1.4 blocks, and just 1.1 turnovers while shooting 52% from 2 point range and 45% from 3 point range. With two years development who knows what we might have.

I think we know what we will get with Shivers. I see Richard making the biggest jump. He was coming on until the injury. And I think he can improve on D.

How do we go about making Fisher into a positive...by now his self confidence has to be as low as it gets...the old saying that you can't teach size...he may be slow but he is big

I Ann hoping Friday sheds 10-15 lbs and gets a little ripped. He has good instincts and if he can lose some weight and get a little bounce he can be pretty good. And he is a good foul shooter so if he can to line he will score.

How do we go about making Fisher into a positive... Get him in a St Rose uniform?
