Personally, I felt an emotional letdown after last nights game... And I loved it. I didnt like the fact that Siena lost, obviously. I loved that feeling of the hurt you get from your team losing a BIG game. The last few years were so tough because we weren't in any big games. Sat through a lot of games that left me with little change of emotion at the outcome, because the stakes were low. The Monmouth game was so much fun, I left the game on a high emotional state, that I hadn't felt in a long time attending the Siena games. Conversely, I left last nights game on an emotional low that I hadn't felt in a long time watching Siena games. That's the beauty of playing in BIG games. The strong emotional state you get after a win or loss. Some big games your team is gonna win, some big games your team is gonna lose... The emotional stakes are higher in the big games... Good or bad, your going to feel SOMETHING. That's is the feeling I have been missing from the games for the last few years. I love the emotional highs/lows of Siena competing in the big games. If I didn't want to enjoy the emotional high of a big win, or risk the emotional low o a big loss, I would just root for Marist, so I wouldn't have to risk being let down emotionally. It's a risk/reward thing. Also, I could care less if it was Iona or anyone else... It is Siena I care about. BTW, doesn't Iona lose Severe & Casell also? I agree that was the toughest loss since we lost to Purdue in the NCAA tournament. The biggest game since then. The toughest MAAC tournament loss since the Big 3 were frosh back in 2007. The problem is that night I knew we had a bright future. I felt badly for Haddix and Ryan but knew we'd roll the next few years. Now I really question the direction we're going in. One reason it hurts so much because it feels like it was a best chance to win a title for a few years at least. Hope I'm wrong on that.

Graduation Losses:Monmouth - Robinson, Hornbeak, Brady, James, Stewart SPU - Wyche, Welton, Baker, Patterson Iona- Washington, Cassell, Severe, Bessick Siena - Wright, Ogunyemi, Bisping, Long Fairfield - Sidibe, S. Smith Canisius - Valenti, Douse Rider - Thomas, Taylor, Lundy, Carey Quinny - Harris, D. Smith Niagara - Taylor Marist - Hart, Brooks Manhattan - Wilson Most established bigs returning are probably: Man - Waterman, Crawford Mon - D. Quinn Niagara - D. Robb Quinny - C. Daniels FF - Milin Rider - D. Eke (transfer) That's not overly intimidating. Best returning real PG is Ricky McGill. After that, Rider's Stevie Jordan, Niagara's K. Dukes, and CC's Malik Johnson. or non-PG combo's like Dixon and Z. Turner. Not quite world beaters either. The league's returning strength is at the SG/SF position but that alone doesn't guarantee wins. Add Robertson to Canisius' list. He's graduating and going the 5th year route somewhere higher.

MTS that is a new low. Really it would have been better to lose in the semis than to lose in OT in the finals. Just withdraw your fan card and be done with it. I think he is going with the idea that it would be easier to justify letting JP go had we gone meekly vs Monmouth. Personally, that memory will be one that sticks with me for a long, long time. Just an epic comeback and performance. . I don't want to speak for mts but I think he meant that Monmouth would have had a better shot than we did versus Iona. I do disagree and was glad Siena made it to the championship game. For awhile there was real excitement in the program.

So the top 8 are?! Starters?! Not speaking for anyone, but I think they were not listed in any particular pecking order. We will not know that until the primary, secondary, tertiary, etc line ups will be thrown out there by our media loving HC starting in October.

Wow, looking at kk's list, the MAAC looks to be really down next year. The teams returning the most might be Manhattan and Niagara. It will be interesting to see what happens at the Q with Moore out. They had some really good young talent but will it stick around.

That said we almost did and I'm glad we made the championship game. I guess I did not articulate it the best. Had we lost by 20 to Monmouth the hurt would be a lot less. Instead we got to Monday night and lost by a point in OT to a team that has the most titles in the league and owns us in March. That is brutal. It's like the basketball Gods wanted to torment us after a roller-coaster season - so close to the NCAA tournament yet so far. Last night was exciting but depressing too.

LOL....seriously Dave, I do think we would take the right transfer. You have to turn a lot of stones over and put a ton of work into it. And I don't think the kid has to 'come back to the Capital District' either. As you have said, there is a lot to offer here, just gotta find the right fit. Anybody leaving NC State? Seems to me someone there owes us a favor.

I had visions of the shot going down a whirlwind of media coverage and a huge pickup to turn next seasons outlook around and going forward. So yeah I get what mts is saying it's hard.... but a great overall weekend and I know the team showed a lot of skill, determination and heart over the last half of the season.

But they usually involve Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Betty White and a bowl of Captain Crunchberries.

Williams is okay and will probably start at center. they are the favorites to repeat.

I'll add to this information...red shirts this year: Manhattan gets Rich Williams for 17-18 (guard) Monmouth gets Zac Tillman (big) for 17-18 (Center) Monmouth has a lot of young talent coming back. Is Seaborn the player to watch next year? Iona lacks athletic bigs. Rider has two transfers eligible...Devine Eke (Maine) and Frederick Scott (DePaul) I do not see anybody else that are transfers or red shirts coming back.

You might have to embellish it a little to make a full length movie
