I don’t want to bust anyone’s bubble here..but the truth is Monmouth has much more talent than Saints- Siena not a real good road team. Only way for Saints to win is for Saints to shoot well and Hawks have off night. If Monmouth shoots well Saints will lose by 20+ points- I’ll say Hawks are a bit over confident from ass kicking they threw on Siena last week, they play so-so and only beat Saints by 14. But hey that’s why we play the games you never know--- keep the faith..LOL

In the MAAC: 4 road wins in a row 5 out of last 6 were road wins First 3 road losses in a row in the MAAC were by a combined total of 9 points Monmouth is not our Gonzaga.
They are beatable.
As Monmouth has done on a number of occasions this year, if they "don't" shoot lights out like they did against us in Albany and we are still up or within 4-6 points with 10 minutes left in the game, and we make our foul shots, we win the game. Have a feeling we are going to see a number of guys play well, but especially Marquis and Nico.

If they don't key on Robinson effectively the result will be the same.

If they don't key on Robinson effectively the result will be the same. I'll say what I said before - Make Robinson work for his but focus on denying everyone else a good night. Everyone else on that team is so effective because teams put so much energy into stopping/limiting Robinson that it opens up the floor for the other plays. Stop doing that! The other two keys are: JO has to stop going for the block whenever somebody drives into the paint. He rarely gets one or forces them to alter their shot. Then he is completely out of position to go for a rebound, making it that much easier for the other team to get their own board and easy put-back. Stop being SO paint focused on O. Spread the floor and let Quis and Nico attack and shoot. Then when the team does pass into any of the 3 bigs they will find it much easier to operate with some space and defensive focus on the perimeter.

I don't know if i am letting Nico shoot carte blanche... his 3 #'s are abysmal. sure he catches fire, but that usually comes after an 0-7 stretch and followed by an 0-7 stretch.

We are not a 3 point shooting team. Deal with it.

We are not a 3 point shooting team. Deal with it. Nor are we a force it inside 100% of the time team either - a mix is needed coupled with s decent % of made shots in each offensive mode - just doing the same thing over and over is the classic definition of insanity, one likely established after watching JP coach a game or two.....

Funny how perimeter means behind the arc to most everyone. What I mean by that is mid-range and outside the arc. Not suggesting they just run wild but I have a very high degree of confidence that if they AND their teammates know that it is ok to take a shot from outside the paint prior to the last 5 seconds of the shot clock they'll shoot better because it will be in the now allowed flow of play and the bigs will be looking to rebound rather than shuffle, shuffle, work it into the paint, wait for the shot clock to run down, etc. So far in the SnOwSnOwflake error if anyone shoots from outside the paint with 18 seconds left on the shot clock they better make it because nobody is looking to rebound for another ten seconds. Note: before anyone wants to attack, split hairs, etc. I know that I've made several global statements that are not universally true. However, IMO, they are true far more often than not.

While it would be nice for Siena to pull off this upset I'd rather beat Monmouth on March 5 or 6 that is the one people will remember.
I'm more concerned we play well and have a believe we can pull off the win in March. Remember Giants-Patriots in 2007/08? Giants lost the regular season finale to the Patriots but played them to the wire. What happened when it really counted? I know that isn't the best analogy but Siena can get a lot out of Friday's game without a win.
Trying to beat Monmouth twice in 10 days might be too much to ask.
