One of the away games will be against the fifth team in the Gotham Claasic. Louisville and Memphis will each host Siena, Albany and the fifth team. Siena plays Albany at the TUC, Albany plays the fifth team at SEFCU, and Siena plays at the fifth team. There are really only three games left to schedule, and the expectation when the series with FGCU was announced wasvthat we would have 15 home games in 17-18. I guess we will find out. So Albany gets a home game in addition to a game at the TUC where more of their fans see them play than at any game on campus? And Siena has to play the road game to get Albany to come to the TUC? Wow, Siena sure got the worst of that deal.

I don't disagree. Hope the fifth team is a good one from an RPI perspective and not like UAPB, Radford or Bryant.

No way hankla. That's the quickest way for BCS coaches to lose their job. Just ask Hewitt :-)

Guess it's better than last year when we got 3 road games and 1 neutral court game. So it was pretty much preordained we would get another low major. Wish Jimmy would just stop going to these high major/low major tournaments- it does nothing for the fans. Just as soon he just sign a guarantee game or two and skip these type tournament. Use the 2 games you save to play MAC/CAA/A10 type teams that you can get home and home with. Throw the fans a "bone"..LOL

Regarding REPEATED 20 win seasons - if the deck is stacked with cream puffs, you finish 3 or 4th and you get consistently bounced from the MAAC tournament there's no way should that be considered successful in my book.

So basically the 27 games of your schedule is set, now your options are: Tournament at High Major at High Major home vs Low Major at Low Major No Tourney with guarantee game at High Major vs Mid Major (alternating one year home one year away) No Tourney with no guarantee game home vs Mid Major away vs Mid Major Unfortunately, there is no way to get the scenario you presented of playing the guarantee game and using the two games you save to get a home and home with mid majors. What Jimmy should be doing is fighting tooth and nail to land a coveted spot in one of the neutral site tournaments as often as he can. If he mixes those in on occasion then I can live with doing these crappy seeded tournaments the other years.

I agree with your analysis. Unfortunately, there is a worse tournament scenario: two games at high majors and one away game and one neutral game vs. low majors which is what we experienced last season.

Agree with you 100% on that one. Unless Siena is willing to host the low majors in that sort of tournament then I hope they never enter one of those again. Realistically it isn't a horrible idea for Siena and Albany to split hosting duties at the TUC in one of those tourneys. Much better solution that Siena having to return a road game for Albany to get a home one like next year.

If he mixes those in on occasion then I can live with doing these crappy seeded tournaments the other years. We can get in better tournaments though. In 2007-2008 we were in the preseason NIT (though that tournament has lost some luster still a good preseason tournament) - 2008-09 we went to the Old Spice obviously being in the MAAC helped that. In 2009-10 we were in the Philly Classic which wasn't a great tournament but we got a home game vs Delaware, road game at Temple and St. John's/Brown on a neutral floor. This year really would have been the year for Siena to go to the Old Spice (Quinnipiac instead is going). Siena was forced into going Jimmy's first year because it kept on being delayed. Still Charleston, Puerto Rico, Diamond head, Paradise Jam, Cancun etc draws a lot of quality mid-majors. At the very least Jimmy needs to start scheduling better home and homes. I'm hoping a 2-1 or even 3-1 can be worked out with Maryland with Jimmy's connections and the Huerter brothers.
