Currently have 5 guys avg double figures, ( Quis, Lavon, JO, Brett and Nico ) that’s called balance folks- add in Kenny, Ryan , Imoh and you have your top 8—Evan will play spot min – that is your top 9 ( currently) and it’s not even close after that= Kinnon, Paige and Cam won’t play much unless garbage time or heaven forbids injuries. With 3 freshmen in playing group, team has a lot of room to grow

As was mentioned above, the impressive thing is they played as you described and still won. That is the good thing. Play poorly and still come away with the win. That is what good teams do. Yes I get it, and I also get they could have lost by two and that would make them not a good team? Not necessarily, but don't you think there would have been a difference if they had lost it?

Not in my opinion, they would still be a good team that threw up a stinker and were still in a position to win. Not to make a comparison, but when the Big Three team went to the season opening tournament and came away without a win were they not a good team. Sometimes teams lose games they shouldn't. Bucknell will be a good team, but they lost last night and probably are saying they should have won that one.

I guess my point is that the game could have gone either way; if we lost it, what would the comments look like? I have a feeling the board would look totally different.

Often times just a few buckets or less mistakes can be the difference between winning and losing. Just the fact that they have been playing with a lead for most of the past three games is a huge indicator of how well they can do.

But I also see some of the old problems, e.g., fouls, missing bunnies, missing foul shots, poor passes, etc. That's probably why I am happy for the win, but I remain a doubting Thomas.

Yikes......... "but Chris Hass misfired on an off-balance jumper after a perfectly executed inbounds play as the final buzzer sounded. "

It has been a long 5 years. As I said, it will take at least a couple of 20+ win seasons and MAAC championships to get some of the most doubting of Thomases fully on board. It is understandable. Let's just enjoy the process and hope for continued success and not jump off the ledge at the first unexpected loss.

Agreed, but the point I think most were trying to make is that there was a will to win (although rather ugly) last night. Could have easily folded in OT on the road. Says something.

The big test will come in a couple weeks when we face MAAC opponents. One home and one on the road.

Cellar Rat your reasoning powers are amazing . Do they still teach logic at Siena? You learn more about the character of a team when they win as they did last night than if they won by 15.

Agree completely! And, even more importantly, the team learns a lot about itself with a win like last night's. Good team chemistry comes from within and can't be developed only from the coaches.

Actually, I'm not upset on any of JP or team'sT's over the past three years. Many times JP asks for some to get team motivated (more so the first couple years here at Siena). Not just today's funky one. I was - Hymes had a bunch of stupid technicals Clarification - I'm not upset with any JP T's.
