some really good dialogue here today! I try to support Jimmy and this may be a small comment for me to make in the whole scheme of things but... Games like the Quinny game, crisp passing, excellent ball movement in the half court game. This last game back to the ssslloowwwwww passing. Once we got inside 6 minutes, all of a sudden with a sense of urgency, our half court passing starts moving 2 or 3 times faster than the speed and rate we were going at all night. I'm a retired music teacher and I see the difference. What the heck are our coaches seeing?

I don't know about others, but I'm not "suddenly" saying anything. I never thought Patsos was a good coach or a good hire. I'll support him and every player on the team, but I don't feel like that means I have to agree with everything they say or do. I'd accept the loses, too, with the lost personnel. But the lack of effort, the lack of individual improvement, and the newcomers not being "ready"? Those are on the head coach. I mean you joined the board last month. Consensus on here was that Siena was going to finish 1/2 in MAAC and win tourney before the season. I don't think that's true I'd say more like 2-4 with a respectable showing in the tournament. There are a few Polly annish homers here with unrealistic expectations. Personally all I look for is improvement and all I am seeing is regression at this point.

One thing is for sure, he can't have that starting line-up out there again. He basically takes 2 6'10 guys who are raw w/ limited low post moves and just clogs up the middle... Esp against a zone, the second jimmy saw that, one or both needed to come out. maybe Jimmy sees these games as throw away games to have his team playing better as winter progresses, but you need to iron out the deficiencies in practice, not in a live game setting. I stayed until the final buzzer Saturday, but haven't been more displeased with a performance in several years.

He sees the games as throw aways, "the MAAC is what matters". But not to everyone.

It was the same last year when trying to figure out how to score in the half court. It took him until February to realize that he needed '2 shooter lineups', the zone, and the high post.

Long way to go before writing the season, players and JP off. Let's see how the team grows.

Have to agree JP was slow to move from the game strategy. Last 8 minutes night and day. Move that back to 10 minutes in first half perhaps different game. These kids don't play well in slow offense. JP promised up tempo he had it last 8 minutes. what about first 32.
Remainder of season will be interesting.

I dont know how people are just ignoring the losses of Bisping and Silas and suddenly commenting that Jimmy can't coach? I think any team that loses a defensive stopper and 5 fouls for a big body and the leader of the team before December is probably going to struggle. If you want to complain about the recruiting that is fine go ahead. But those two losses are bigger than anyone is giving credit for. Its not an excuse its reality. Ive been commenting on missing Silas body down low since after the first loss to Vermont. I disagree... if Siena is ranked on a scale of 100 as about a 50 right now. .. adding Silas and Bisping makes them like a 55 to 57 Let me get this right- if we had our MVP from last year, this year we would only be marginally better? Pretzel logic and comical!

Pretzel logic and comical! Dude, if you think Bisping is the answer...just quit now. You lack understanding of the game. Bisping wasn't helping much before he got hurt. Don't take it personal, I just have a better grasp of the situation. It's a whole different story of liking basketball and understanding it. I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Bisping wasn’t playing well but he was giving us 9 and 5—something our 19 year old centers are struggling to do in 2 games combined let alone one- Brett had to be guarded , he was a wide body and was very good at setting picks – he was tough and could box out. So while Brett wasn’t giving us eye popping numbers, we are getting nothing out of his replacement – so yeah it’s a big loss. If you can’t see that you’re not being honest. I still maintain the silver lining in Brett getting hurt it will accelerate the development of JO and WB. Maybe even Jimmy Paige get a chance to show what he can do and shine- we desperately need someone to step up or its going to be a long season

Besides WB, Jimmy P. has not recruited any real quality big men if Long is being defined as a #3. With the injuries to Silas and BB, Siena is very thin at the power forward and center positions.

In summary, Siena is going nowhere. I think at this point that's pretty obvious
