Carm will be gone eventually … next season or the following … in the new world order of college basketball next coach will have to be in the mold of a Phil Jackson … someone who knows his X & Os with the ability to handle prima donnas … there needs to be an dedicated assistant who is capable of identifying talent who can also put an attractive package together to sign recruits (aka General Manager) - year round job … requires building a new roster each season

You can keep changing the coach but one person has been here for all of it. An AD should not be like a Supreme Court justice.

I concur. Where’s the link for the petition for D’Arg to retire/resign/be fired?

When Carm interviewed at Fordham after 2 years (and having proven little) they should have let him walk. D'Arg is completely reactive. He hired Mitch "for continuity" based on fans screaming for that. He never actually looked at what he was hiring, just that it was a guy affiliated with Fran. Fans don't care about continuity...they want a winning team. How we get there is mostly irrelevant. Patsos did OK at Loyola but the school agreed to a lopsided contract. Again, who the eff is agreeing to this shit!? Siena is a great job. Period. We keep needing to plug the hole quickly because we're always left with a dumpster fire. That's why I'd prefer to can Carm now and let an assistant run the ship (and interview for the head job if they want).

I don’t think Fordham was seriously interested in Carm probably their third or fourth option. I get using Carm using them as leverage to get an extension but any coach who would leave Siena for that coaching graveyard is insane. Makes you wonder did Carm believe he could beat Pitino and get to the dance? Well Pitino’s gone now but we’ve bottomed out. And it started last year around this time.

And it started last year around this time. as it has been said on here many times by many posters, Carm is not a good X's and O's coach. Based upon last year's and this year's performance it has to be questioned what part ,if any of being a head coach is he good at? Carm has to Go!

Everyone keeps assuming Siena gives a hoot about basketball anymore, I think that commitment is lacking. Carm will not be fired, when he’s replaced it will be with another cheap hire. Hopefully he’ll do a bit better and get Siena in the top 5 of the MAAC renew interest and get a few more fannies in the seats. After watching what happened to St Rose I don’t think Siena wants to suffer the same fate.

But if it is then move to the ARC now you’re just wasting money at MVP.

St Rose had a unique problem due to its real estate debt. But all liberal arts schools like Siena face the crunch of the demographics with a lot less prospective students with many choices out there. That is a long term fact of life. It would impact MM sports even if there was no portal or NIL.

Case in point, Manhattan faculty just voted "no confidence" in their president due to program cuts and debt

Siena has bucked the trend in seeing freshman class grow over last 4 years … but as mentioned this is not sustainable due to shrinking pool of potential applicants over next 10 years … Siena also attracts more women than men … sports is used as an admissions tool … but wonder how many non-athletes are spectators attending athletic events … athletics vs academics will be a topic for discussion at most colleges now and in the future.

Case in point, Manhattan faculty just voted "no confidence" in their president due to program cuts and debt Interesting that debt was led by athletics deficit According to a June 30, 2022, report by auditor KPMG on the college’s intercollegiate athletics department obtained by The Press, sports generated a $12.5 million deficit in 2021. In 2020, the deficit was $14 million, and in 2019 it was $16 million, according to the report.
