I still think we are two players away from contending for a MAAC Championship. Even Gaines and Rodgers would have put us in the picture. As it is, the program is Javian's to sink or swim. If he's even 3rd team all MAAC then we are probably in the battle of 3rd to 6th. If he's better than that then 2nd is a real possibility. If he's injured or doesn't make the sophomore jump then it could be a long year.

I think we can finish top 3-4 again and you hope to finally click in March in AC.

Have any other college teams played Pallacanestro Crema? I looked but...everything is in Italian. Good luck to the team tomorrow.

Couple red flags….3 of 14 from 3, I think this could be our biggest weakness this year. Not sure what Carm is thinking with Jayce at PG. 6 TO’s proves he isn’t. Without JM, Platek needs to play that spot until Tekin develops.
Good signs…Tekin and Gribben looking better than expected.

The bar was set low for Tekin and Gribben, but I agree, Tekin pushes the ball up the floor and Gribben is active and runs the floor well. As was stated, three point shooting was dreadful, but McCollum may help those percentages and he should get some open looks for others as well. Lane didn't show much offensively, but had some good defensive effort.

How can anyone make an intelligent assessment of a team or its players playing in a foreign country in August is beyond me. Pros have a difficult adjusting over the first month or so. Siena has been there a week. But you can tell from their performance that they can't do better than 4th place in the MAAC. Maybe third if they are lucky. I feel sorry for the players who have to perform for the likes of some of you. Maybe I misused the word intelligent

Have any other college teams played Pallacanestro Crema? I looked but...everything is in Italian. Good luck to the team tomorrow. A few observations; Maybe it’s me but I wasn’t overly impressed with Crema, maybe they’re still sorting things out & finding their legs. Hopefully the next team up is stronger & provides a better test. Anyhow getting an early jump should help develop chemistry & help us in the long run. Don’t like Johnson running the point. Each season Carm appears to have a pet that he pushes too much. I hope Johnson @ pg isn’t one of them. The kid from Turkey is serviceable, I like how he pushes & sees the floor but he needs to look to put the ball in the hole. I think he’ll be a better option at pg vs Johnson. A lot of strange subbing and odd lineups at times. Gribben also looks to be better than I initially thought, hopefully he progresses as the season moves on. He has a way to go.

Today's game is being livestreamed at Noon Eastern: Thanks for the link. While I didn’t watch this live, the link allowed me to watch the entire game on YouTube. BTW, everyone questioning Coach regarding playing JJ at the point, you all do realize that JM’s temporarily not able to play while in Italy - correct?

Others are very happy being critics who get their satisfaction in life seeing their thoughts appear in print and baiting others who don't share their lack of enthusiasm and support for the team. Does anyone know if today's game will be streamed and if so how do you find the link to it? I admit I'm not very tech literate ,but thankfully in my old age I'm still learning.

Watching some of the clips from the first two games I am pleasantly surprised by Tekin. He finds the open man on the break and has good court vision. If he can give us 8-10 minutes a game this year relieving Javion we can be better than expected.

I feel sorry for the players who have to perform for the likes of some of you. Maybe I misused the word intelligent The playing group is going to be mostly guys that played last year. The only newcomer that is going to be a major impact player is Eley. Platek we only had for a few games and his return will help quite a bit but he's mostly a known quantity. I'm failing to see how Eley and Platek is better than Rogers, Hopkins, and Gaines. The only way this team could match what it did last year is for McCollum to become the real deal. It is nice to see that Gribben and Tekin might be diamonds in the rough and develop down the line but they aren't going to help us beat Iona this year and they aren't going to help us win in Orlando this year. I always put extra emphasis on the years we get to play in Orlando, is such a great opportunity to get to play big schools on a neutral court that you otherwise don't get outside of the NCAA (and look how St Peter's took advantage of that and put their name on the map). Disappointing to me we didn't get those two extra guys we so badly need and instead are burning those scholarships on Gaines and Owens. Throw in another scholarship or two that are questionable and we will be giving major minutes to Baer and Johnson who are nice role players but not guys you want to depend on. Like I said, that's the recipe for a team battling between the 3rd and 6th seeds. Would love to be proven wrong!

Your not wrong but I thing the big thing will be if Billups becomes our next Alex Franklin. The kid is good and if he makes that leap we can be pretty good. I expect Javion to be good. The wild card as always is injuries

Regarding the comment: “I'm failing to see how Eley and Platek is better than Rogers, Hopkins, and Gaines.” IMO Eley is already more athletic than any of those three and only has potential to be better than any of those players. We saw those players max potential last season and I think Eley has a higher ceiling but may take a year or two to reach.

Ans Gary Harris was more athletic than all four of them so your point based on athleticism isn’t that valid
