musicman...while I liked what I saw, keep in mind this was like playing a D3 team. They were totally outclassed. Tempered enthusiasm would be wise. Hey, even if you're playing the Little Sisters Of The Poor it is an accomplishment to play your available roster and more than double the opposition's score. I agree it won't cause many posters (fans?) to take the Suicide Hotline off their speed dials.

This is mostly an opportunity to get the guys together to play early and practice - establish a special camaraderie and relationships away from the normal practice sessions. And obviously just to see how these guys can play together and what the new guys have. Lots of new guys and they haven't played together before. I don't think anybody's doubting the level of play on the other side for many of these games but we still have to play them. That said, does anybody know when the next game is?

I'm not sure that opponent was even D3 level of competition given that they lost to a team of high school players just the game before. Still, the purpose of this tour is to avoid last season's start by getting the once again newly reconstituted roster used to playing together and have the guys returning from injuries shake off the rust. So that's all I'm looking for from this trip. And from the few clips I've seen, it looks like there's some good team chemistry forming.

Why would you want him back home rehabbing and with the Doctors that didn’t seem to do such a great job the first time around? If it’s me I want him to be around the team and with the Doctors/Trainers with the school, showing he is putting in the work and doing everything possible to recover. Lmao Stop. You know zero about his surgeries; ortho surgeons or extent of his knees (one or both). Sometimes kids have chronic issues, sometimes surgeries can’t ever restore the ability to play competitively. I doubt rehabilitating in Albany would have mattered. Looks like there’s more at play here. My point is there is value to being around the team. It’s clear that Carm is ticked how this whole thing went down from last year. If it’s my kid I want him around his coaches and teammates showing them he is rehabbing his ass off and doing everything possible to get healthy. Granted they probably don’t take him to Italy but if it’s my kid he would have been back at school the day everyone else showed up. Maybe his fate is sealed and they have already moved on from him. Then we have 2 more wasted scholarships this year.

Is that correct in your mind? Or do you think there's still a decent chance we may see him on the floor?

Or do you think there's still a decent chance we may see him on the floor? Yes. Probably bleak. And if it doesn’t happen this year I wouldn’t expect it ever happens. End of the day, yes, there’s been frustration about how all this has been handled since before he got to campus. At this point though, that’s water under the bridge. Carm wanted to give the kid a shot to get healthy and they are on the same page right now about where things stand. Idea that he’s home because staff is pissed at him isn’t rooted in fact… otherwise why would he still be at Siena?

Each team they play is suppose to be a step up in talent. That is why this win is so tantalizing. We don't know what to expect over the next two games, but can't wait to find out. So far, I prefer to be optimistic. Those three young men mentioned are freshmen. That in itself is exciting. Now all we have to do is keep them. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we can keep them here at Siena for at least a few years. This new era of college basketball is not going to be easy for mid-major teams, that is for sure. At this point we can see why Carm has been excited about this team's potential.

According to the Siena website the next game is this Friday Aug. 26th vs. Pallafanestro Crema.(from Crema) The third game is one day later on Sat. the 27th vs. UCC Assigero Piacenza. Those back to back games against better teams should be a challenging test for our young men.

Anybody know who the short guy is to the left (our left not Aiden’s left) of Aiden Dagostino is (a manager, walk on not listed on roster or just someone who lives in Italy, etc.)?

This looks like him too (our left of the bald guy):

He’s one of the two managers. Thanks GS. I was wondering that but didn’t know him personally. You mention one of two managers; are you referring to two managers who made the trip or two managers on Siena’s team? I thought there were 4 or 5 managers on the team/roster. I did think I noticed one other manager on the trip.
