Time to move back to the Arc. No need to pay to play at the MVP any longer. Play a few games a year there like they originally did. This is a really ignorant take. When the ARC was renovated into a woman’s basketball venue and practice facility five or so years ago, the seating capacity was reduced from 4,000 to 2,148; not enough to sustain the men’s program.

It absolutely is. If they get 4k at MVP they are lucky and half are give away tickets. Makes no sense to play every game there. Play 4 or 5 times a year down there.

I would like to see a New York State Basketball Tournament which would include teams like Siena, St. Bona., Syracuse, Buffalo Univ., Albany, Iona, St John's, Marist, Manhattan, Columbia, Niagara,Canisius etc. Put them in brackets and have a three day tournament. Travel would not be too bad for any team. Good for bragging rites.

So, your solution is to take a team that had an average attendance of 5519 last season (there were early season Covid restrictions that negatively impacted attendance) and 6238 three seasons ago (the season before Covid) and move them to a facility with a capacity of 2148? Brilliant!

Excellent points to which I would add get the damn blm patches off the unis.Carm hitched his wagon to an ouright fraud and disseminator of nationwide discord. Pathetic. I'll never forget when King Rice and Shaheen Holloway claimed Carm embracing BLM would mean a lot and help him in recruiting black players. This year, 6 recruits, 5 white.

Maybe, just MAYBE he didn’t do it for recruiting advantages. Maybe…..just MAYBE he did it because he sees first hand how the young men that he mentors day and and day out suffer on a daily basis because of the racial injustices that persist in our country due to the ignorance of individuals like the person that posted this??? 🤔

I totally agree about having to go by yourself. My little blonde isn't too interested any more in going out on those cold Jan. nights. I hate going out on those nights myself. But I do. I think it's more an age thing, it never used to bother me. I think it is the lack of connection to the players. When you got to watch a Ryan Rossiter or Manny Camper go from skinny freshman to all-MAAC players you really felt a connection to the team. By the time you got to senior day it was a big moment. Now you just hope there are a handful of names from the previous year that you still recognize the following year. And the guys being honored on senior day are usually guys that just transferred in or walk ons. At this point a lot of it really is just cheering for laundry. If Siena's solution is to keep charging the same for less home games then I expect you will see a lot more fans giving up their season tickets and just cherry picking which games they want to go to. The turnover of players is not limited to Siena. It's NCAA wide due to several factors.

Please tell us what the average was last year (a year still affected by covid). And you have ZERO clue as to how many are given away. if you have some proof. please provide it.

If Carm embraced BLM, as these coaches suggested, to enhance Black recruitment, then his motive was less than honorable. If he did it because he was a true believer, he was bamboozled as recent history has shown in street violence and fraud. Note, even Amazon has suspended BLM fundraising from Amazon Smile for failure to provide accountings of how the money raised is spent. My opinion, Siena should not be publicly supporting a discredited organization that is using social justice to enrich itself.

Move this to Smack Board, nothing positive comes from having this conversation in a thread about out of conference scheduling.

To enhance future OOC opponents I’d like to see Christmas Tourney resurrected … drop the annual Albany game …. Have tourney w Albany & Siena on opposite side of bracket playing other invitees… play 2 double headers … earn Cap District bragging rights by winning tourney

Get teams like Buffalo and St Bonaventure in and have three straight days of doubleheaders, they would all draw well. Siena and Albany would each need to be willing to provide a return game though to make it happen unless they are willing to dish out money for guarantees.

All of these ideas, while noble, are essentially dead on arrival when pitched to other teams.
