Maybe he just has terrible decision making and stupid people in his ear. Or maybe he doesn't like Italian food. Thanks, I got a good chuckle out of that. I needed that.

Oh wait, I get it! You’re not an alum, not a season ticket holder. You just want to buy individual tickets for Duke, UNC, Villanova, Baylor and Michigan State. Otherwise, the Siena coaches and admin are losers. Hey, we’d all like OOC games at home like that but it just isn’t realistic. Follow the Saints on the away bus trips to include the OOC games. They’re an awesome experience ! At first I thought I posted this. 🙂 Sounded like something I’d say. 😂

Doesn't have to be Duke, UNC, etc. How about LaSalle, George Mason, Northeastern, Duquesne, Kent State, Akron etc? What makes you think I'm not a season ticket holder? Have been since Griffin!!

That article was from two years ago. We got attendance back and if we play well should be even bigger next year. Siena will play one guarantee game to help play for the Italy trip. Otherwise it looks like the typical normal schedule.

I'm less concerned with how we play than who we play. If we are 350th in the nation in assists again then I have little interest in watching the team regardless of schedule. If we have something that resembles an organized offense with good ball movement then I'll be coming out to watch even if we are playing Wagner. Once we get a more watchable brand of basketball I will worry more about who we are playing.

There’s also this from Mike Kelly March 18 in the Gazette: Siena’s non-conference schedule doesn’t have a lot of questions left to answer.
The Saints will play away games against America, Delaware and Harvard next season, and they’ll play UAlbany, Army and St. Bonaventure at MVP Arena. They’ll also play in three to-be-determined games in the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Florida, which has a loaded field.
Maciariello said the team is in agreement with another mid-major program for a game at MVP Arena, but that deal is not official.
Beyond that, Maciariello said the program wants to add to its non-conference schedule a “guarantee” game to complete it. If this is true then Holy Cross gets pushed back and Siena will have another home game against a midmajor TBD. Plus a money game TBD. Home: St. Bonaventure, Army, UAlbany, TBD Road: Harvard, Delaware, American, Buy game TBD Neutral: 3 in Orlando ESPN tournament dailygazette.com/2022/03/18/maciariello-discusses-siena-mens-basketball-season-offseason/

Schools like LaSalle, St. Joes, Drexel, Hofstra, Northeastern, Fordham, Umass and others are only a bus trip away so it seems like home and home against schools at that level are doable and home games would be more attractive and draw bigger crowds and make more money than games against Bucknell, American, Army, Holy Cross etc. In the past Siena has had home games against Stanford, Pitt, Creighton, Xavier, George Washington, Miami (Ohio) as well as some of the schools I mentioned above. Maybe I'm just frustrated seeing either the ineptitude or the unwillingness to progress which seems to result in Siena slipping backwards.

UMass took a two for one deal essentially as we played one game there and one game at Springfield to get the home game. If Siena wants to provide 14 home games a year then there is no room to take 2 for 1s without bringing in low majors for guarantee games. With the new transfer rules and the way power conference teams schedule now there is virtually no chance of a power conference school scheduling a game at the MVP for the senior year of a local player.

I confirmed with Siena that there will be only two non conference home games this year included in the season ticket package. The price is the same as last year.

As I understand it, we’re playing a buy game that is paying for the Italy trip. That, combined with the Albany game not being a “home” game, trims the number when you already have a 3 game MTE and existing series in place.

Does that mean Albany is neutral game this year & add’l cost - no seat guarantee? Correct, although there will be a presale opportunity for season ticket holders. So you have to pay the same price as last year ($295 in center sections) for only 12 games instead of the usual 13 or 14, and if you want to go to the Albany game you have to pay extra, presumably another $30-40 for good seats.

I’ll do it this year but the product needs to improve to sustain this which includes style or play and not just wins and losses
