Correct, although there will be a presale opportunity for season ticket holders. So you have to pay the same price as last year ($295 in center sections) for only 12 games instead of the usual 13 or 14, and if you want to go to the Albany game you have to pay extra, presumably another $30-40 for good seats. I’ll do it this year but the product needs to improve to sustain this which includes style or play and not just wins and losses Just win baby...if we're 24-7 and we're winning 65-62 type of games I don't care. The key is putting it together in March. Two years in a row we have not.

The style of play is just one specific reason for sure. I do hope for their success but looking at the big picture, I dont see it. Good luck.

Style of play, talent level, complete non-transparency in the program along with the (whether just perceived or not), the coach's smugness. I have seen enough. I will always love the Saints but unfortunately have lost it for the program as a whole, from top right on down.

I used to know all the players and love watching them develop. Now I can't keep track. While I get why Carm may be somewhat closed, he has to understand that you can't go months with no info and keep the fans involved. The old coaches club would have had recruting info, etc. flowing continuously. It was the reason the Saints board would be more active in the summer than most school's boards during the season. All the things that kept me "hooked" are going by the wayside. Carm has managed to post winning seasons but being the top of the MAAC isn't all that great - hence our RPI (or whatever) sucks. I do think Carm got royally screwed by COVID and I think he's having a hard time adjusting. Hopefully he gets the Saints back to the dance and not as a PIG team.

My little blonde isn't too interested any more in going out on those cold Jan. nights. I hate going out on those nights myself. But I do. I think it's more an age thing, it never used to bother me.

I think it is the lack of connection to the players. When you got to watch a Ryan Rossiter or Manny Camper go from skinny freshman to all-MAAC players you really felt a connection to the team. By the time you got to senior day it was a big moment. Now you just hope there are a handful of names from the previous year that you still recognize the following year. And the guys being honored on senior day are usually guys that just transferred in or walk ons. At this point a lot of it really is just cheering for laundry. If Siena's solution is to keep charging the same for less home games then I expect you will see a lot more fans giving up their season tickets and just cherry picking which games they want to go to.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with your observations. Every thing you just stated, although not that complicated, seems so obvious once stated. I wish someone of authority at Siena (like our new President) could read your statement. Maybe a "light would go on" and they would contemplate what direction the program is going and what the ramifications might be.

Maybe a "light would go on" and they would contemplate what direction the program is going and what the ramifications might be. Problem is it is a lot easier to identify the issues than to identify the solution. It is the NCAA that has opened the can of worms on transferring without penalty, Siena has no control over that. It is inflation that makes it difficult for Siena to cut ticket prices even with less home games, once again Siena has no control over that. I can think of a few small things that might help but it is difficult to come up with big solutions for these issues. Siena could recruit more local kids to generate more goodwill, for instance this Hudson Falls kid that Hoopjunkie is always talking about is going to connect with local fans more than a kid from Iceland or Turkey. But for all I know, Carm may be recruiting these Euro kids because they have a reputation for having more loyalty to a program and are more likely to stick around for four years. Still seems like local kids would have the highest probability of sticking around although we saw with Jordan King that still isn't a certainty. Siena also could offer some sort of discount to Siena season ticket holders when buying tickets to the Albany game like $5 or $10 off. Just something to say we recognize we are giving you less for the same amount that might get some goodwill. But most importantly they need to do things to improve Carm's image with fans. It is not good that so much of the fanbase finds Carm smug and distant and not open and honest with the fanbase. And the same goes with the players, had Anthony Gaines been featured on a bunch of local interviews and commercials we might have felt more of a connection to him rather than just seeing him as a guy that came in for a year and suddenly took over the team and was allowed to do whatever he wanted. Even just putting together video packages where each of the kids talk about their lives and backgrounds could help generate that connection that would make it easier to talk the wives into coming to the game on those cold winter days.

Time to move back to the Arc. No need to pay to play at the MVP any longer. Play a few games a year there like they originally did.
