Saw that palm had us in the first 4 in Dayton vs prairie view. Hope we win the maac and get that play in. IMO, the first 4 is better than a straight 16 seed as far as tourney experience for the kids and program exposure. Stand alone game, prime time and we will WAX a team like prairie view. Win, win....

I don’t disagree but the presidents will interview candidates and given the fiscal realities they have to deal with I doubt they will be convinced by the applicants to commit to the expenditures necessary to alter the MAAC landscape so whoever takes the job will have to accept the constraints. That said the MAAC can and has been in the teens in the rankings so even with the current constraints mid major status is possible. If St Peters can be competitive every team in the MAAC can as well. Get the right coaches who are able to get the players for their systems and it can be done. But this league will never attain The status of the A10. Mostly agree, especially about the a10 and whatnot but how long has it been since the conference has even been in the teens? I am afraid that there are too many teams in the maac to break into the teens again, and not enough teams willing or able to do anything about it. The only chance like you said is the coaching. A lot will depend on whether Holloway jumps ship at the first opportunity or stays at St Peter's a couple years waiting for the right opportunity. If St Peter's is actually helping the conference rather than dragging it down we can definitely get back in the teens. Stability at Niagara would be nice too.

For people that want to see Siena get up to the 15 line, would probably need 3 of the following to occur: America East won by someone other than Vermont or possibly Stony Brook Atlantic Sun won by someone other than Liberty or North Florida Big South won by someone other than Radford or Winthrop Big West won by someone other than UCI or UCSB Horizon won by someone other than Wright State or Northern Kentucky Ohio Valley won by someone other than Belmont, Murray State, or Austin Peay Patriot won by someone other than Colgate or possibly Boston U Southland won by someone other than Stephen F Austin Summit won by someone other than South Dakota State, North Dakota State, or possibly South Dakota WAC won by someone other than New Mexico State None of those scenarios seem especially promising but inevitably at least 1 or 2 will happen, 3 might be a stretch. As previously stated, so many advantages to the first 4 if we take care of biz in AC.

new update today (again this is ESPN-Lunardi most accurate & trusted).................... East Region - # 3 Seton Hall vs. # 14 Hofstra and # 6 Ohio St. vs. #11 N. Iowa South Region - # 3 Villanova vs. # 14 Colgate and # 7 Arizona # 11 East Tenn. St. ....and he has Saint Peters #16 playing Prairie View A&M # 16 (first 4 game in Dayton) with winner getting # 1 Gonzaga in the West Region.................... Totally love the first 4 scenario if we come out of AC victorious. Great program exposure with a stand alone game signifying the start of the big dance, prime time, and a team we will most likely spank. Life is good.

2017
I believe the maac is 20 or 21 this year and was 20th in 2018 as well.

Hypothetically of course.... If Siena wins out and the MAAC conference finishes with a rank of 20 and Siena end’s up with a power rank say around 130 do you really think we get the PIG? I’m thinking maybe a 15 spot.

I’m thinking maybe a 15 spot. Agreed. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but the PIG projections show all the favorites winning their respective conferences. There will most likely be a few upsets when it's all said and done which would likely boost our seed.

It's certainly possible for this team to wax another PIG team, but based on recent road games against Fairfield and Marist, it's not a sure thing. Would hate to look past and lose a PIG!

If Siena wins Maac tournament they will have 20 + wins. If that puts them in Dayton it shows how bad the conference really is.
