Unfortunately conference strength doesn't help us very much. Only one it could is against the Big South but Winthrop has a win at St Mary's and played tough at Duke. A 1 seed would and should be livid if they got stuck playing Winthrop while Siena was on the 15 line. Last year the best 15 seed had a124 net but the worst had a 176. And the 176 was Bradley who won the Missouri Valley so they weren't going to stick on the 16 line. You also had North Dakota State pull an upset in the Summit, Gardner Webb win the Big South, and Stephen F Austin get upset in the Southland. Siena will need some similar luck this year. Right now they are only ahead of the winners of the MEAC, SWAC, and Northeast. Need 3 other upsets to get to the 15 line. For economics though a play in game win is the best case as it gets money for the league. MAAC is suffering from being just good enough to avoid play in games and losing out on that money but not good enough to pull any first round upsets and losing out on that money.

Seems like whatever they come up with we will be happy. Michigan seton hall rematch of the 1989 championship game. Agree with first part, but is it really a “rematch” if the previous game was played thirty years ago, and none of the players who will be in the game were born when the previous game was played? [/quote] Nope, more like a fun fact.

Now up to 67 of the 80 brackets in the matrix showing us as a 16. As tempting as it is to dream about reaching the dance, don't want to put the cart before the horse...must focus on just the next game. Go Saints!!!

I don't think a lot of these "bracketologists" put a whole lot of thought into the low and mid-major one bid conferences. I think they just look at the standings and plug in whatever team is in first. They seem to be much more focused on how many teams each high major gets in, who is on their bubble, etc.

They seem to be much more focused on how many teams each high major gets in, who is on their bubble, etc. that is exactly what they typically do, who ever is in first, but even at that.......many of them had Siena at one point listed anyway, and I can't recall if we were ever even tied for first, a win tonight would do that I believe for the first time this season.........let's GO SAINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They either take the team that is first in the standings or first in NET (or another computer ranking). No one is actually handicapping the midmajors to determine the most likely winner.

Bracketmatrix has plenty of bracketoligists that actually put some thought into it. But bottom line is lunardi and the big ones don't because they know that the last one is all that matters and they will just plug in the conference winner at that point.
