Please,do not schedule any more low major games;is it not enough that were playing in the worst D-1 conference in the country! How far do we have to fall before someone in (charge)says enough is enough. We have a new young coach now all we need is a new direction for the program.GO SAINTS!! Our scheduling has been frustrating for years.being in the northeast, we fail to take advantage of our geography. Same ol situation with the Bonnie's and maybe bucknell and Colgate. We reside in a cbb hotbed geographically, but fail year after year to provide an interesting nonconference for our fans and season ticket holders. We have the a10, mac, aac, caa, patriot, on and on....right in our back yard. Yet, we fail to play new and interesting teams that will improve out resume. For the very least: We should have a 2or3/1 with Syracuse A 2/1 with UMass, uri, and Dayton. Home and home with teams like UB, and most other mac teams. Why not? They have a very competitive and fun conference and UB, Kent st., wmu, ni, etc. Should be options. Then consider northeastern, Hofstra, and George Mason. I just touched on the potential here. The opportunities are endless given our geography and facility. Come on now...

My understanding is that Carm wants to play in Boson regularly. Two or three times a season sounds about right! 😇 Those would end up being home games for you. 🙂

It takes a lot of work, I don't buy that it can't be done.

We need to start taking advantage of our dense college hoops geography, which we have NOT done on the last 10-15 years. At one point we had butler, Stanford, Syracuse here.the last 10 or so years has delivered us the same schedule of Bonnie's, Fordham, and Colgate. Sorry , soooooo many scheduling opportunities given our location. Geeez, imagine the challenges of boise st and their geography!!!

That said, the program has been laxed the last 6-10 years in scheduling a challenging and INTERESTING OOC schedule. Siena is in a great location in terms of scheduling, but fails year after year to take advantage..

The problem is Pitino is now on our schedule TWICE a year. I've also been watching your posts and I don't need another troll on my ass this is a serious time for our school and our country.

I may not have gone to Siena. I may not have your business degrees, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know when I’m being disrespected and I don’t know where serious threats face OUR program.

"A troll on your ass"? No, I am far from a troll. I love Siena and its endeavors. Just bc a valid fan isn't in tune with your thoughts, it doesn't = troll. I love this board and all who participate. So, quit the bs about following my posts and labeling me as a troll. A troll is the new and popular term for someone who isn't in agreement with you. I commented on a few posts tonight: the first was one that we should be AUTOMATICY a tourney team bc we won the regular season? Really? And then my comments on our OOC schedule which has been weak for years...give me a break....

Do you savor losing? I don’t need your condescending attitude. Why so sensitive? I asked a simple question. And you didn’t answer it. So I’ll try to deduce: you don’t like the challenge and want to hand him the trophy now. Myself - I am looking forward to seeing this team, which is bringing in new talent to supplement the 2 first team All MAAC returners, playing the Gaels. Probably in front of 10K+. And no, I am not conceding that game now.

The opportunities are endless given our geography and facility. Come on now... Let’s give Carm a chance to improve the schedule, but let’s also recognize reality. Our schedule is based on having 14 homes games. That allows 14 away games and entry into one multi-team event. Cal Poly was scheduled to give us a 14th home game last year. This year we scheduled American for the same reason, although it wound up finishing second in the Patriot. As things now stand, we are looking at 13 home games next year as we have to return games at Bona, Holy Cross, Bucknell, American and will play at St. Lohis in a game that is related to playing in the Advocare Invitational. That’s eight non-league games away from the TUC, which leaves only three non-league home games (Yale and two TBD).Looking at the following season, while we can expect Bona back here, whether the Bucknell and Holy Cross series are continued, we can’t get a 14th home gave from American, because we had to agree to play the second and third games in D.C. Syracuse has never played Siena in Albany. Siena played Butler, Boise State and Northern Iowa because of the Bracket Busters. While 2 for 1’s may be possible with teams like Providence and URI and Dayton, you have to play a home guarantee game (likely against a MEAC or NEC or similar opponent) to balance out the home and away slates. Is a game vs. a Delaware State worth a game vs. a URI. It,s something to think about. With Siena’s profile ascending, there may be some number of quality mid-majors willing to play home and home, like Bona, Harvard and Yale. We played Hofstra four straight years. Hopefully, that series could be revived or one could be started with Northeastern. There are no simple answers, but there are ways to improve the schedule. Given where we are, it will take some time.
