The guarantee game as part of the 2020 Orlando Invitational will be at St. Louis. That will get us to 11 non-conference games and 31 overall:
@st. Louis Orlando Orlando Orlando @st. Bona @bucknell Yale @american
We need three home games to continue the scheduling model of 14 games at the TUC. I don't know if there is any talk of continuing/extending the series with Harvard and Holy Cross.

Interesting-- I figured they'd ship us to Michigan State to be a whipping boy. These can change with scheduling conflicts, but I like getting SLU-- great game for us to play and one we could win certainly.

I think we got one more at Holy Cross don’t we?
17-18 HC at Siena 18-19 Siena at HC 19-20 HC at Siena 20-21 Siena at HC?
Perhaps one of those road games gets delayed so Siena can get 14 home games.
If we’re going to play a guarantee game might as well play a winnable one like St. Louis.

I'd use some of the money from the SLU buy game to buy a MEAC team in the non-con. Get a win and don't have to play the return game. We saw this year what can happen when you play on the road. Doubt we'd do it but we should.

um, SLU is really good and the top team in the A10 (well at the time they were, that is now held by Dayton of course)...........it is a great game to have on our schedule, but if we were fortunate enough to win that game it would be a big upset, just saying...............really wish they would return a game to Albany...........

There's a better chance than you think about SLU coming back next year. Their best player is a junior and from Middletown, NY. Maybe they show some class and give him a NY home game his senior year, in a real arena, not Fordham.

We have 3 home games to schedule. I don’t see why one can’t be a buy game against a bad opponent. The chances that we get 3 good mid-majors to play us all at home next year isn’t all that high. I’d rather buy Coppin State or Maryland Eastern Shore than wind up with a home and home against Army or CCSU. It’s not a big difference in game quality and then you’re not stuck with the trap road game like Cal Poly. Plus, it lets us maintain more flexibility in scheduling for the following year. Again, not saying we’d do it but I think you are overestimating our ability to land great games.

The whole concept of buying games just feels grimy to me.

Absolutely! Way more interested in a home and home vs MAC MVC IVY A10 CAA etc we see enough low major with the bottom of the MAAC without bringing in another crap game especially from the MEAC.🤮

I would think continuing the Harvard and Colgate series would be a good place to start. Since we visited them both this season it is an easier sell to start a home and home next year in Albany. There really isn't a team in the MAC or MVC that you say no to if they are willing to start a home and home in Albany. Even one of the top teams from the OVC (Belmont, Murray St, Austin Peay) would be a good get. Would be nice to get a series going with Vermont again as well and Stony Brook would be solid too.
