Someday the NCAA will require the majors to play at least one OOC road game a year vs a mid-major. Marist is gonna play Duke?

St John's plays exactly zero non-conference road games this year. With the current system there is no incentive for power conference teams to have non-conference road games period and if they are going to go on the road it will be to play another power conference team. At this point the bottom of the A10 would be difficult to get a home and home with, even UMass took a 2 for 1. 2 for 1s also make future scheduling even more difficult as you are committed to more and more road games. Focusing on home and homes with good midmajors is the only realistic path forward. It is too bad the Bracket Buster has never been resurrected. Yeah forget the power 6 team (Stanford/Syracuse) barring an unusual situation they’re not going here anymore. But I don’t know why you can’t get Davidson, George Mason, URI, VCU, Dayton, Richmond etc to Albany for a home and home. Anyway this years OOC was pretty good for Siena. We played 7 out of 9 against winning teams (just need to win more of them!) Next year with hopefully a stronger roster the schedule (outside of only 13 home games is set up well) a bunch of good mid-majors and potentially get three high majors on a neutral court (that’s where you have a chance not on the road with their refs in a money game see Xavier) Here are the road games of those teams so far this year: George Mason @ Maryland Richmond @ Hampton Davidson @ Charlotte Davidson @ Northeastern Rhode Island @ Maryland Rhode Island @ West Virginia VCU @ College of Charleston Dayton has played no road games Even that level of team rarely ever goes on the road and when they do it is usually to play at a power conference. Sure, we'd all love to get home and homes against these teams every season but it's not realistic with the current setup of college basketball. If we can get one of those teams in every 5 years that is an achievement.

ok so lets get the rest of the home schedule completed. WE have 2 A10 games and at least 1-2 HM in Orlando. Would love to see some competitive home games and maybe some new series. Would love to see:
- play one of the Boston teams, maybe start a series with Northeastern - Play one Philly team, Drexel would be great - maybe a school in Michigan or Chicago area since we are recruiting more there
Just my 2 cents as we look ahead

How about LaSalle, St.Joseph, DePaul, Bowling Green, Ohio, Duquesne, James Madison, Wm & Mary? Maybe Siena needs to be a little more aggressive in scheduling as they are in recruiting.

Look into; MVC - Loyola Chicago or Bradley, MAC - UB, CAA - Hofstra, William & Mary or Northeastern, OVC - Belmont or Murray St.
Need a change from the same ol’ teams we keep on the scheduling over and over.

I can't believe no one mentioned George Washington Maybe in a year or two; I’d wait till they become relevant again. 🙂

Some games against the MAC would be good. Toledo, Buffalo, Akron? Not big names, but solid teams from a solid conference. Akron had a couple of non-D1 home games this season and Buffalo and Toledo each had one. I think Siena becomes an attractive game for those teams because it would be a decent win, but not a critical loss. On the flip side, Siena gets to play decent teams where the road game is winnable. I'd also like to see Vermont back on the schedule. A solid America East program without the scheduling drama.

I don’t like playing multiple teams form a conference unless it’s clearly and Up conference. That’s why is at we play Northeastern as we already have an Ivy and Patriot league does. And Yale has a locals kid so it’s more attractive when they come here. I like playing a MAAC school and Toledo is actually pretty close to Detroit. Add a PHL school and we have a nice schedule. Maybe when American series ends we upgrade that game to another DMV achool

Two or three times a season sounds about right! 😇
