Times Union .. COLONIE — Siena College's internal investigation of men's basketball coach Jimmy Patsos is also examining allegations that he shoved a player during a team meeting in December.
According to a person who witnessed the incident but is not authorized by the school to comment, Patsos pushed junior Kadeem Smithen out of his chair as the team reviewed video footage of their Dec. 29 loss to Marist College. The incident took place on Dec. 30 at the Hilton hotel in downtown Albany, where the team was staying at the time, the person said.

@scottknapp12 2. Also I hate to say this but many of my fellow Siena fans are delusional if they think the Siena job is considered what it once was among up and coming coaches. Quinnipiac pays Dunleavy 800k and top asst 250k. Our assts combined make less than 250k. Not sure what Quinny did all of a sudden to be able to afford that but they found cash to pay a Villanova asst w good bloodlines. And he probably required good pay for his assts. What did they pay the previous coaching staff?

It is no coincidence that they are across the street from Sleeping Giant State Park.

he also threw in his endorsement of Jimmy Yeah, but he's usually at least a 40% endorsementator. That's a good percentage. He's right though. Quinny is the real elite MAAC job. The only advantage Siena has on them is fans. Once they find some real success and develop support, they could leap to the A10 before we ever could. Until Siena can expand enrollment and post-grad programs they're going to continue to fall behind even peer institutions. . Yes but that advantage could be used to grow the program if it figured out how to hire coaches and structure contracts correctly. I think mr. Knapp might have forgotten just how valuable the Siena brand can be.

Until the school gets back to be fully committed to the program it will be difficult to land the coach needled to bring the school, program back. The last 8 years have shown how incompetent the admin is, how the school really hasn’t supported the program. They always took the easy way out. If the school really supported the program do you think JP would have received extensions.

If they hire Beilein with an appropriate allocation for quality assistant coaches, that will do it for me.

Was the previous coach and his staff getting paid even top 6 money in the conference? Yes. One thing to keep in mind with what Quinnipiac is paying is 1.) Quinnipiac is a bigger school with significantly more resources. Their university profile is A10 level. They just haven’t made the step up athletically yet, but have an aggressive new AD Who is working to change that. Also, cost of living is much hire in CT, which makes salaries look inflated.

If I were the A10 I would definitely take Siena over Quinnipiac should Siena rebound to even top 3 in the MAAC consistently because even though Quinnipiac has more resources and a higher enrollment, Siena brings the Albany market, a much higher attendance per game, more sponsors, and a rivalry with St Bonaventure. Don't see what Quinnipiac adds to the conference that they don't already have as UConn dominates the Connecticut market.

Papi(the troll) wants Siena to go down to the ae or nec or better yet down to D2. That’s because he’s a real fan.

Looks like it has stopped for a while. Siena needs to get back to being a MAAC championship contender. As far as Quinny goes they have an awesome women's program but they have a lot to do in the men's game which is really what you need to go places. They may have a higher ceiling than Siena does but (as Gorvy once said) buildings and money do not win championships alone. I like their coach and they should be good next year.

I don't think Dunleavy makes 800k. Maybe 600k. The assistant part is almost accurate. I think the 3 make less than 200k, DOBO maybe 20k. We could never really afford good assistants.
