Obviously the Patsos era is over. Whether it happens tomorrow, Friday, next week, etc, he’s never coaching another game at Siena.
The questions now become:
1.) how does it end officially? Resignation, fired for cause (lawsuit would follow), or a settlement?
2.) what else comes out? I think most of us know there’s more too this than the incident with Smalls.
3.) Does this take down D’Arg? This could get bad.
4.) who’s the new coach? All the buzz is Pat Beilein right now and I’d be happy with that. But who knows what could change if more things come out.

Doesn't matter but I'd guess fired for cause and eventually a settlement and it happens within a week. 2.) Who knows but the sooner JP is dismissed the better for everyone. 3.) D'Arg's days are numbered. I guess he'll survive this for a while but will be eased into "retirement" within a year or sooner. 4.) My money is on Beilein but not a slam dunk - Siena needs to do a complete search. The only coach I'd keep on as an assistant depending if the next coach wants him is Abe. This is a great job - this is an embarrassing thing for Siena but should not affect our ability to get a quality coach in here. Many young up and coming coaches would LOVE to get this job. To rebuild the program and get it back to where Fran had it at. I wouldn't want someone who did not strive to be great.

Don’t pick a coach who:
A). Thinks holding curry to 0 points while losing a game to Davidson by 30 points is an accomplishment.
B). Is proud of coaching a game from the stands. And
C) wins one maac tournament, and no reg season titles in 9 years. 9 years!

A committee should be used - same type that has picked successful coaches in past. In no way shape or form should Darg have a large say- he has proven to be incompetent. He is main reason Siena is on its knees right now.
Let's not make a knee jerk reaction- pick the right coach to bring Siena back to where it should be

Yes a little patience in the search process please. I don’t care what recruit we lose by waiting.,,, think about the long haul. Or maybe it has already been decided with Hewitt

Don't be surprised if a new coach is named very quickly - I'm guessing that Paul's visit was coincident with the decision to get rid of Oh-No (the new nickname for the previous So-so) and the start of a search. Beilein would not surprise me and would explain his turning the Foxes down as he may have been contacted by Paul early on re possible interest. Given the nature of the opening, the need for absolute silence has been paramount. Those wondering why things re our kids leaving have been so quiet may now understand. The team cannot be allowed to tread water while a prolonged search goes on - kids need direction and the mess needs sorting out to see who stays and who leaves. I would hope that one or more of the assistants (Abe is the most likely in my mind) might have told D'Argenio about the mistreatment of the manager long before the kid's attorney walks on campus...

If they have truly done a clandestine search over the past few months than fine. But if not the most important thing is getting the right coach not worrying about next years team. And if $1.2 million was saved, go get Nate Davis.

This hire can not be botched. The last thing I want is a quick hire with little thought. Davis Beilein Howard Caputo Holloway Hewitt (just throwing names) whoever they may consider.... an in-depth well thought out search needs to be conducted and D'Arg needs to stay out of it......

Gory MP spot on though we will still see some sort of buyout, obviously not the 1.2 million just to move along the process. GS17 why is a take down of Darg bad. Obviously it would be retirement, or should be handled that way. Yes again man has done some good at Siena but has continually mishandled the signature program. In the private sector, I don’t consider academic institutions private or public profit making, the man would have been gone long ago.
Hopefully we don’t relive the catastrophe. They say history repeats itself but als learn from history.

My thought is if Darg goes down immediately here, we are now a program in shambles. No AD and no coach and not having an AD could impact our ability to hire a good coach. Retirement soon is fine.

Thinking is why Hewitt has been in the mix. Temporary, permenant, AD coach? Who knows right now. I have been led to beli ve PH and wife have always liked the area. Could be wrong, someone can enlighten the rest of us.

Without hesitation Siena should be announcing D'Argenios retirement at the end of the school year.
