Really? He’s basically calling Darg a bullshitter. Which is not inaccurate. The translation is easy. He basically said “Hi Darg, I read your comments about the team and I call bullshit!” I think s22's comment is on the money - implying that someone is a liar is a nicer way to do it than just blurting "liar" out. Given the long standing situation and the apparent lack of doing anything about it, it's not always easy to dial it back. We all have hot buttons and they've been getting pushed on a more regular basis this season and the skin beneath those buttons is raw to begin with. Not that it would matter, but it might make sense to email it to John to ensure he sees it and can get a pulse of the fans after the TU article. I think I’m not expressing my point very well. I like the letter, but I don’t think it’s as civil as you guys make it seem like. It’s an aggressive letter, it leaves little to the imagination. He’s essentially calling “bullshitt” and that’s exactly how Darg will read it. Which, frankly, is ok with me.

Darg is not responding either way, he does not respond to negative emails at all. If you blow smoke up his ass he responds other than that unless you are donating money, he wont respond. I do applaud fact you let Darg know how you feel

I do applaud fact you let Darg know how you feel The only things he’ll understand are a drop in donations, an empty arena and a drop in season tix renewals. Quite frankly he deserves all three!

I do applaud fact you let Darg know how you feel Tony, beg to differ but I've sent D'Arg a couple of emails recently (within the past month) and he responded both times.

Suck it up buttercups! 😊 Hopefully, Siena is able to recruit better talent. Let’s go Saints! Weren’t you calling for Patsos head a few weeks back? At least have the balls to stay with your convictions!

Darg may be putting all his eggs in next years basket only..............because in 2019, JP has a bunch of local targets, Girard (GFalls)-Ortale (Beth)-Mahoney (Alb Academy)-Cook (Shaker), plus for 2018 he still has Seymour (Shaker) on his radar............not saying getting 1-2 of those on the roster isn't a bad thing, or they might fill a role...........but if he thinks he is gonna challenge for a MAAC title with a bunch of locals, yikes..........2018 is do or die, both on the recruiting trail & also on the hardwood................

A recruiting win or 2 may buy Patsos another year in D'Argenio's mind. But could Jimmy coach "up" with greater talent? Hasn't proved that--witness last season's individual stars and mediocre results. We need a change--NOW. (Or as soon as this debacle of a season is over...) If, as D'Argenio said the other day, it's not happening, good luck to all who are still aboard the Titanic! I'll be back as a $ supporter and season ticketholder when the change is made.

This is my second season of no donations, no season tickets and watching games from afar. It is the fifth season of aggravation with this circus.

I'd say (unfortunately) that 80% chance that Jimmy is back but nothing is completely set in stone. Look at New Mexico - certainly a level higher than us but not a blue blood and their head coach was terminated 3 weeks after the AD said he would be back. It doesn't appear to because of any off the court stuff either. I believe NoleSaint was right when he said D'Arg left the door open for a change. I'd say their plan is to bring JP back but something (major transfer, booster stepping up, etc) could flip it. If he's still here by the final four then you can say basically 100% certainty he'll back next year. A lot can happen in six weeks though. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/19051223/craig-neal-fired-new-mexico-men-basketball-head-coach

Different circumstances Neal had like 3or4 off his best players transfer out.I think he was part of reason also and they let the AD know.

We're committed to him,'' Siena athletic director John D'Argenio said Friday. "We review everything at the end of the year. That's what we always have done. I sit down with him at the end of every year and we look at where we're at, and are we getting better."
Does he realize he says that they evaluate the year at the end of the year, and make a decision at that point.
Why then is he saying right now that Siena is committed to him?
Does he realize it's not the end of the year yet?
D'Arg has to go and go first. Soon after that Patsos has to go.
Then a new AD must be hired first. Then soon after that a new HC must be hired....by a committee....which includes the new AD.
If they don't do this, they will have to live with the results, which means if they lose a 1,000 season ticket holders next year (25%?), they would be able to include them in attendance figures.
Which means for the first time in a very long time, we could avg less than 5,000 fans per gm next year.
Are there not any wealthy Siena alum that can come through with a million dollar donation to buy most of the cost of D'Arg and JP's contract out?

Or buy a offensive asst coach with all power to run the offense.JP can't have any say in it.
