Boy sometimes I wonder who the Siena fans are on this board. If there's a chance for our seniors to play another game, go for it. No. If their last game wasn't going to be in the NCAA tournament let last night be it. I was all for it the two other times not now...their dreams were crushed if it would cruel to put them back out there. Last year I heard that a few did not even want to participate. It's over...we're on to 2017-2018.

But this group already won a cbi championship and the fans just aren't interested as evidenced by the low turnout against more head state. I'd rather see them end their career playing a close 1 point loss in front of 1723 students in the maac championship than losing to Montana in front of 1,500 and ending up with a losing record.

Great turn-out by the students - 1,723 tickets sold. Too many of the rest of our fans did not show. Hopefully there will be some carryover to 2017-18 on student attendance. Good to see the students. One problem during season they have lengthy breaks when many games are being played.

Time, energy and money should be spent trying to find a way to bottle what happened over the past three days and make that the norm for the future of the program.
There should be a lot of soul searching and evaluation before committing to a tournament. Personally I do not want any additional tournaments this year.
The program should be focused on next year and that should have started first thing this morning.

I expect student attendance will increase during the regular season.

I heard Andy G on the radio this morning with Paul Vandenburgh. Andy is a big supporter of Jimmy. I would be shocked if they take action with Jimmy even though the trajectory is definitely down for next year. We played a good game last night and came up short. The student turnout was great but where the hell were they all year? Lazy sacks of sh*t. Still, the environment was electric and it was a great game to watch. Our record didn't merit an NCAA berth and the play down the stretch (esp on D) was why we'll be watching Iona play. Siena is 0-9 against Iona in the MAAC tourney. Really!?!? That goes all the way back to Mike Deane so it isn't just Jimmy but dang!
PJ is spot on. Changes need to be made and the only thing the admins understand is $$$. I'm going to let my wallet speak for me.

Andy G is paid to support Siena and really can't say anything bad about the coach. I was watching on tv and at least three times the announcer mentioned that there is a lot of talk in Albany that Jimmy is on hot seat - wonder if they read this board in prepping for game

Actually $cott it isn't that we are too good. It is that it doesn't make sense. It would only make sense if Jimmy were to bench the starters and let all the underclassmen play. I could be supportive of that but it would be a quick 1 and done. The CBI/CIT are good for a springboard for young players. Playing 4-5 guys who have had the bulk of minutes this year does nothing to that end.

I doubt one of the top announcers in the country is reading this board. Where there is smoke there is fire. I still would not rule out Jimmy deciding to "pursue other opportunities" but more than likely he is coming back because they simply don't have the money to make a move. If next year is bad (whatever bad constitutes) then there's no doubt he'll be fired.

The number of students attending during break mirrored the time when they were in session during the season- very few.

Bilas asked JP about his assistant coach role under Williams and asked if JP parroted William's habit of yelling at his assistants and JP said no very seriously pure BS!

I haven't been a consistent poster on the board for a while, so I don't know how people feel, but I am curious to see how many people are debating whether to renew season tickets or not. I definitely had some moments during the year made me wonder if this was worth it (I had a lot of games going solo and not using 1 of my 2 tickets) but I will be back. I don't disagree with what a lot of people say about games being on TV, and the timing of the games moving the needle somewhat, but I believe the bottom line, put a winning team on the court, people will come. We need some big time players!! Siena also REALLY needs to develop its younger fanbase! Boogie...you have been missed. Agree with all especially developing younger fan base. You do that by competing, and developing players you keep around for more than a year or two. The kids who grew up with Ronald Moore will have their families clamoring for the next Legends game (and I do believe that there will be one when the timing is right).

I know many, many Siena fans thinking the same thing- attendance at the Siena games in MAAC tournament was off about 20% from past years. In my case this coach has run me off from 2 premium ticket to regular season seats-- next year I am contemplating dropping season tix entirely or choosing 70 season tix option. I think Siena is looking at a considerable drop in attendance next year as a 500 coach drags us into the abyss of mediocrity.. too many excuses.

Be careful Tony, you may get a lecture from Polly on how to support the team. The guy is a mess
