The problem is nobody really cares about ancient history. What are we recently, past 7 years? Irrelevant! Most recruits were 6-10 years old last time Siena was making waves. Most of them have no idea about Siena now, we're yesterday's news! It's about now ... not the past! Sorry...I'm "ancient history" and I care about the past. You're not being recruited to play. Yeah memories are nice but don't do much after you've sat through 7 years of low major D2 ball.

D-2 ball, really? What was Siena's RPI? Better than half of the D-1 teams this year. Why post such a ridiculous statement that has no facts to it?

Over the past SEVEN years with the exception of the CBI run and this year's tournament Siena ball has been pretty much bad basketball. Sorry I know how easily you get upset. So ridiculous no, fact yes! Mitch .370 Jimbo .500 7 years .470

With free in state tuition coming the pendulum is only going to tip in ualbanys favor even more. If Siena doesn't have college basketball to set it apart what does it have? Won't it be the opposite for athletics? If you can already get into Albany for free then what meaning does an athletic scholarship have?

If it's free it probably devalues it

No the issue is if in state tuition is free it will be that much harder to attract regular students to Siena, which will decrease their revenue. In my opinion it is more important than ever to increase the profile of its athletics program to attract quality students and remain viable as a small libera arts college.

I believe the highest application rate in Siena's history was after the "double onions" game...

Keep in mind most tuition free schools are for residents only. Out of state residents always pay full price. Any scholarship provided would still be highly valued for an out of state resident.

Free tuition is going to come with all sorts of income parameters. Don't worry middle and upper middle class will still be paying tuition and probably subsidizing those who qualify for a freebie. Also this is tuition only, no room and board, no books. Remember this IS the Vampire State!
