What does Siena have to offer that Vermont doesn't? A chance to start from scratch? He'd be foolish, you can move beyond the MAAC from the AE. Relax it's just a list for discussion, besides that's the kind of thinking that gets you Mitch and Patsos This whole thread is stupid, you got 2 more years of Patsos.

If he does and he has another 8-10 win season next year the program may never recover when considering the totality of Mitch and Rex. Maybe that is what Siena wants. They might have to suck it up and pay two coaches. Because the money lost keeping Jimmy Patsos may be worse. There also might be a ton of defections and won't have enough players to field a team next year. I am a die-hard fan but I'm not a fool. My fandom will be severely cut back if that is what happens.

without kicking any tires, and this is in no way an endorsement from me................but what if the admins decided to go in a similar route and say grab an experienced HC, who has ties to the area (played & coached at Union)..........the guy currently at Holy Cross might fit that.........and has been at places where academics & athletics co-exist, which we know are very important to those steering the wheel currently at Siena..........Bill Carmody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we start with criteria and then look t candidates. I'll ponder it while at gym and post after lunch. Northeast ties in NYS, Metro NY, and NE will be there. I think if Jimmy does sty he needs a. Ew assistant who can tel him the way it is without fear of backlash. Jimmy needs a real experienced consigliere Lonergan would be a great fit

Not mentioned as a problem. But we are a under armor school. And the # 4 choice of Baltimore kids. One reason we loose kids to U Vt is Nike owns the City Rocks.....sponsorship is a big issue

Jimmy ain't stupid and he sees what happened to his friend which will affect him forever - maybe like Mike Addessa

He got hired and it paid good off for Becker right away

Not saying Bill isn't a good coach or hasn't had a decent career but at age 65 and trending/winding down is not what this program needs. This program needs to go younger (40's or younger), a coach that can relate to players today. The program needs to be re-energized as does the fan base. Jimmy was suppose to do that but has failed miserably. Watching the average age of people attending currently and watching people run for the exit last night with over 5 min left should scare the hell out of Siena.

I don't see the admin moving on from jimmy this year. Especially if he has three years left on his contract. But if we could I wouldn't mind Siena kicking the tires on Andy toole again. I know he isn't having a good year, but he really impressed me a couple of years ago. Since jimmys contract will be tough to eat I would like to see if they could work a deal for a year or two for Greg manning to stay on at a low end Maac head coaching salary ($200ish) with the thought that if he has success he will get a good extension at real money. He may go for it as a HC job in the Maac when you are in your 20's is a big deal. I would think Greg has more fire in his belly now then jimmy does. That kind of move would be the death knell for siena basketball.

Two more years of Rex it's back to the ARC. The program is dead. I'm sure there will be thorough analysis done on that very subject shortly. high end mid-majors ( what Siena was supposed to aspire to) is a business. Siena should never extend a contract beyond the next year unless the coach brings strong success ( NCAA or multiple NITs). We also know the severe limitations of the Administration at Siena, including the allowance of incredible look away nepotism( see Cam , < Huerter, new CA recruit et al). The Board needs to recognized this and delegate a substantial number a of the decisions to an Advisory Board. I thought that at the end of Fran's reign that the Board , Fr Kevin etc, would see the value of a men's basketball upgrade. Just the opposite has happened , which makes me very angry.
