Fan turnout was up 22%, and Revenue was up 25% anybody saying this wasnt a good year is flat out lying. once again Siena carried the conference even though it didn't win anything, and two other teams still have the possibility to dance. You are welcome, Maac.

You are welcome, Maac. Not sure anyone is really lying. The numbers published do not equate to Ensor's words the other day on 1300 but then, maybe he blabbers a bit? I am perfectly ok with the tournament in Albany for ever. I love the thing! Being up 22% to 25% compared to the last year when we lost money is still reason to be concerned.

Perfect, now figure out how to get about 1500-2000 of your peers downtown. Win win and win. NCAA appearances Definition of a front-runner. Way to support the program!

Trust me, if belber wasn't seeing a profit at all, they wouldn't want it again... maybe not a huge money maker, but would be no point in rebidding if it is a loser... or he is banking on Siena making a few finals as by the final game, all those tickets are gravy.

Win win and win. NCAA appearances Definition of a front-runner. Way to support the program! Hey I sat through the Beyer Era, Lanier Era and MB Era with the same season ticket I have now. I would not consider myself a front runner, I would actually consider myself a die hard fan that supports the program to a fault in good times and in bad. But nice job passing judgment. If you read the thread someone asked how to get more people my age to become fans and the easiest way is to win. Put a product out that is entertaining, getting media coverage that makes people go "I want to see that next time it is in town."

Something like $13.00 for every man, woman and child living in the county. I am wondering if that is still the case despite claims the arena ran a profit in 2014 was it? Add, did the tourney pay its own way or did the sponsors come through and make up a deficit. Honestly not attempting to run down the MAAC or local fans who supported it including me but, looking at the affair and the games? It could be foggy regarding how well things fared economically. Of course and silly me, anyone working for the county would gives us the straight scoop! Right? After all, the hotels and eateries made out okay so whats a few 10's of thousands? Did anyone else hear Ensoe say the break even point was 700K with 300K going to the MAAC or did i imagine such?

Win" post. Should have known you were a true fan from your "Iona JC" avatar, which I love. Can't have enough die-hard fans.

Did anyone else hear Ensoe say the break even point was 700K with 300K going to the MAAC or did i imagine such? Not sure if this is what you're referring to but the Knick/Pepsi/TUC was subsidized by tax payers for many years, but I thought the arena has been in the black for at least 5 or more years now (meaning it's making money as opposed to the county having to bail them out. Anyone have the figures or link to TU article? Quick google search found TUC made profit since 2011. www.troyrecord.com/general-news/20120220/times-union-center-turns-profit-in-2011m.timesunion.com/business/article/Times-Union-Center-racks-up-500-00-profit-5169794.phpwnyt.com/article/stories/s4025710.shtmlPer Belber's Linked in, He/SMG has made Albany $24M in net operating profit. Not sure if Albany taxpayers are still funding arena anymore, maybe they are.

Knick, Pepsi, TUC: Jim Coyne built it/Mike Deane filled it.

If they want a neutral location, they should look at the Westchester County Center. 5,000 seats and closer to more MAAC institutions. Google it. That suggestion is ridiculous. It's equal to Siena playing at UAlbany next year. Way too many fans would be left out in the cold.

That makes it 86 years old. gg complains that the TUC is a fossil at 30 years old. What would he say to 86. There could be boogers from FDR in that building.

First off I agree with the prices Saint22 proposed. I also feel season tickets should be reduced by 25%. As for declining attendance I feel Jimmy's constant harping at the players incessantly the 1st year turned off a good number of season ticket holders. People asked me when the prospect of Siena hiring JP how I felt about it. I responded that I wondered if the players would have thick enough skin to deal with him. I guess it's common knowledge that the powers that be had a heart to heart talk with Jimmy to scale back that demeanor. The vote of 8-2-1 to keep the tourney in Albany after the current contract was Fairfield abstaining because they bid to get the tourney back in Ct. and probably Iona and Manhattan against to get it at the Barclays or in Jersey. It doesn't work in the Big Apple area cause they only want to attend pro sports, IMO. We've seen it doesn't fly in Buffalo, Trenton, and Springfield and with minimal success in Bridgeport. As for better home games we've had Xavier here in the past with David West, Providence and Cincinnati many years ago. Try for them and other A-10 teams. Lastly, I suggest they move the women's quarter finals to HVCC; charge $10 and $5 parking.
