7127 right on the money. You and your group should be the target demographic. Winning, bringing in quality opponents and competing with them, stealing one here and there, going to the dance or NIT consistently (say 5 out of every 7to 8 years) is the only thing that is going to grab that interest. We actually used to bring in really good teams. Georgia Tech, Stanford, Cuse, Butler, Saint Joes, Providence, Xavier, Pitt, and South Carolina I am sure I missed some. That helped to grow the fan base as well, don't need to win them all just compete and make it fun, when UAlbany is your biggest game of the non-conference schedule something is wrong. Game is fun and I want to keep it but I would like to see some bigger schools come back to the TUC.

I agree on bringing in bigger schools................... GTech was a 2-1 that Hewitt agreed to, Stanford was a return game because we agreed to play them in a tournament, Cuse was a 3-1 deal, Butler was the return game from the road bracketbuster we played with them, St. Joes was a contract home-home, do not think PC ever came here but I could be wrong, XU was a home-home, Pitt was a 2-1 deal, South Carolina was an NIT home game......................Darg & Patsos have to come together on scheduling and it may mean we do 2-1 (I would stay away from 3-1, really no need for that), and stagger them if possible so that you could get 2 power type teams at home every yr, but still play some big ones on the roads.............also, there is a lot of wiggle room to schedule high end mid-majors (Valpo, VCU, etc....), sign 1-1 deals with them.................always give and take in these negotiations, but hey that is why they make the big bucks, certainly not easy but they should be trying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't Syracuse only here because Craig Forth was a senior? Don't think they would have agreed otherwise. Pretty sure the Xavier game only happened cause of Lionel Chalmers. If Siena could get these home and homes they would be all over them. Reality is the big schools don't even want to do 3 for 1s. I would like to see an effort to get St Joe's back on the schedule, that is a more realistic target. It really sucks they canceled the bracket buster, that was a great chance to get quality teams to come to the TUC.

As mentioned could try to get 1 and 1s with strong mids, and every couple years try to bring a High Major into town.

Even with 2 in their house Siena 1 home better Siena gets least possibility of such a series. Catch 22

Siena was able to get creative to bring in good named programs. I understand that major teams don't want to come here without an incentive like bringing a kid home but you are telling me we cant get a 1 and 1 with the likes of VCU, Davidson, basically all A-10 teams, Wichita State, Valpo , etc?

Most of those teams want to schedule wins as well. It is a hard sell to get a solid MM to come to the TUC when they can see even a "rebuilding" Siena team beats top 100 teams at the TUC. It is much easier to get a top 25 team to play you at their place if you have a top 100 or better team. It is good for a W and it is not an RPI killer with a W at home. 2-1 or 3-1 might work, but even that is a hard sell and as I recall Siena doesn't want to agree to that type of arrangement. That said, Siena has to keep trying to improve the home schedule.

A good chunk of those teams would not come here for a 1 and 1. Certainly not getting Wichita State. We should be focusing on getting the A10 schools that will do the 1 and 1 along with the Hofstras, Albanys, and Vermonts of the world. Really Loyola was the only problem with the schedule this year.

I was asking myself that very question this morning. We're are the new fans going to come from? Seems the younger crowd just isn't into the hoops products around here. I would consider myself and the 5 other guys I have season tickets with pretty young with the oldest being 31. The student turnout for the Siena games in the turny was really good. Siena is also a family atmosphere and that is how the ticket base will continue to grow, families going to games or getting season tickets with their kids along with alumni staying in the capital district. Winning also helps, 21 wins was good but honestly who did Siena beat that was a big name or who did they bring to the TUC that would bring a casual fan to the arena to see the product? Siena needs to get back tot he NCAAs on a consistent basis or the fans will start to dissipate. Perfect, now figure out how to get about 1500-2000 of your peers downtown.

There is a lag with attendance. This year we paid for last years debacle. Next year there will be an uptick.

3,115 attend final. Looks like about 20k in total for men, don't know about women. At 30 a head ( some tickets were 75) that's 600k. Yup I think they are happy. Pretty sure I heard Ensor on radio saying, the guarantee was 700K! Not convinced they are happy plus, he stated the main criteria for bringing Monmouth and Quinny into the conference was the quality of their facilities. Siena attendance is slowly deteriorating I think and the MAAC may be preparing for on campus tournament play down the line. They would be making a serious mistake by not having the option. m.timesunion.com/sports/article/MAAC-Tournament-attendance-improves-over-last-year-6878175.php#photo-9574584$500k and 34k fans. So average ticket price around $15 (students pay $8). Obviously belber is happy, and since the coaches voted 8-2-1 in favor of an extension Ensor is happy. Let's see what the presidents do later this year. All in all it was an enjoyable event with the exception of Siena losing.

Ok besides Iona who was the other AD. MAAC caught between rock and hard place. Keep increasing the guarantee drives ticket prices up affects overall revenue and fan turn out. Threaten to go to tourney held at higher seed as AE does, draws tourney out and no revenue for the MAAC. Obviously St Peters doesn't teach business 101, greedy, trying to kill the golden goose
