greenblood I think you hit the nail on the head with your account of the situation less 1 fact. If Mitch uses his assistants as he uses his players once again we are not seeing their capabilities. I'm sure Mitch is a great guy withe the best of intentions. However it is translating into a giant mess. Unfortunately for them None of these coaches will be retained when an new regime is put in place.

I agree racer, I did not mention that the assistants are probably not being utilized to their strengths, but they still, IMHO don't have the experience at this level to right this ship.

What's your problem with Tobin and Ben? Both are intelligent, well-spoken and personable, as is Craig Carter. And I can't imagine why you would make a comment about someone's height. What does that have to do with anything. And having no idea who you are or what your athletic background is (pretty limited, I suspect), in a game of one-on-one between you and Ben, my money is on Ben. Look, the three assistants just don't have the experience lneeded at this level to right this ship quickly. They too took a career gamble on this regime and it isn't working out. There is no D1 experienced HC worth hiring that isn't going to put their own entire staff together. The dysfunction has to be corrected from top to bottom., coaches and roster issues. The coaches will land on their feet somewhere. I worry more about the disillusioned kids who were promised the moon and an education in exchange for the talent which has either been undermined in this system or not used at all. Dear Greenblood (a less confrontational opening than "Look", don't you think): You misunderstood my post. I wasn't suggesting that any of the three current assistants would or should be considered for the head coach job. They and the administration can deal with that. I was just reacting to threepeat's statement about being scared to see Tobin or Ben in a press conference, and his reference to Ben's height. Obviously, any new coach will put together his own staff, which will likely not include any of our current guys. But all three assistants are good guys and good coaches, and I hate to see them caught up in all of this. And, yes, I'm sure that they will all end up with other coaching positions; hopefully in better situations for them. I think that we would all agree with your comment about the players.

I've heard Tobin speak. There should be no concerns about him going a presser.

Did not mean to offend Saints22; I have just been very consistent in my opinion since the drums started beating for a mid season coaching change. I did not pass personal judgement on any of the three assistants, I just stated that their current resumes do not currrently contain the level of experience at this level that I believe many of the applicants will have.

1) Richard Pitino 2) Bobby Hurley 3) Scott Cherry 4) Lazarus Sims When I listed Pitino in December, everyone thought I was crazy. Now he's the favorite.

I've known Pitino would be the leading candidate to replace the program wrecker ever since summer of 2011 when I was playing the horses with them in Saratoga. I know what you are thinking - is he serious
