We should hold fire Mitch sheets. It is just silly at this point not to fire him. A down season or two sure, but they have to know season ticket holders are not going to renew. I can't, prices are high and product is low. He needs to be gone during the season. That is about the only way three or four season tickets will be purchased next year.

This could have been avoided if a change was made three games ago, only there would have been a chance to salvage the season. A small chance but at least a chance. The swirl of negativity surrounding the program is palpable. We are on the Titanic right now, reciting the 23rd Psalm. It's the only way we can find comfort in this situation.

Settle down folks. I'm as dissappointed as anyone. Siena isn't striving for mediocrity but they, like many of you, didn't/don't understand that it doesn't take 3 full seasons to determine whether a coach is good or not. Remmber, many on this board were behind Mitch right up until the Maine game.
I'm confident the admins will make a move but it will be at year end. I'd be shocked if it was sooner though once the writing is on the wall, why wait? That said, Fr. Mullen and D'Arg will be "supportive" of the coach right up until he's axed. Let's just hope he doesn't pull a Lanier and win 4 games in the MAAC tournament.
I will say though that at this point if they don't axe Mitch I will not renew 4 season tix. I'm sorry but with the AMT and the fiscal cliff, I can use $1K elsewhere than supporting a VERY BAD team. They will also get an in-person visit as I won't write a letter that is tossed aside.

I think IF I go to the game on Friday, I am going with a bag on my head.

Mitch is now fully in quicksand... he doesn't know what to do, so now he does nothing. He runs the starters the whole second half save a few minutes at the end.... the announcer sees all the kids gassed, sucking wind, hands on knees, but Mitch didn't think they were tired? what are you watching? And then to say basically you don't think your subs can win the game, well, we all know his media presence is poor, but come on dude, you collectively shoved a middle finger at those 7 guys, some of who deserve PT at this point. He has to go and unfortunately the sooner the better. What is gained by having him fumble and stumble into March? There is no sign of this team breaking out, mitch mismanages the roster like no one I have seen in a long time, the product on the floor is bordering on embarrassing and all that is left is some transfers.... its never a good thing to fire a guy mid-season, but why not just get ahead of this now, maybe save some face for the program and either get a 20 game preview on Tobin or at least get a jump on finding the next guy?

had burdine not had fouls, he would have run him 35 minutes too, just waiting for his foot to snap.... never seen a team so careless with the ball too...

What's most disheartening is that most aren't even high risk/high reward turnovers - they're unnecessarily sloppy perimeter passes, handoffs, careless ballhandling.

Usually every player likes their coach and thinks he is the greatest. ( i know there are exceptions) but every player also wants to win and every player also wants to do just that...play. Part of liking someone is to respect them...I can't help but feel that respect is being l o s t and what player would want to look forward to 2 or 3 more years of this.
I don't think many feel they are going to win. I think many players are upset with the substitutions or lack of them and most probably feel they deserve more playing time.
We have a great bunch of kids and I hate the fact that they have to go through this when it really isn't necessary.

We beat ourselves, simple as that. Coaching seems to end at each game's tipoff! Can't fault the kids AT ALL - they aren't being given any direction re in-game changes - stick to the plan even thought it's not working. Bonnies are a very athletic team that played hard but they were the gang that couldn't shoot straight and we kept reloading their guns. 17-5 turnover margin will win NO games! Trenity, Rob, OD, Imoh even Evan in streaks played well. Ditto of for Ryan and Rich. Not the best minutes for Brett. Where were they during the second half? Demoralizing for them I'm sure.

Siena needs to make a statement one way or the other on Monday. Either announce Mitch is resigning for health reasons or confirm he will coach the entire season. If you make the change you do it now and not on February 15th. Tobin would have two weeks to put a new system in place.

mts- let up on the "health reasons" this isn't a politician who got his junk stuck in a coed..... there is no masking the issue here and it is just lip service to make it anything other then it is. Won't look good at the start, but also won't be a shock to anyone who pays attention either.... this push to have him resign for personal reasons makes siena seem WAY more important then they actually are....

Really was Gina fired last year? or did they mutually decide to "part" ways as Siena said? .. Siena is not going to fire Mitch in December- not going to happen.. could Mitch resign ( under pressure from administration) most definitely - but I'd be shocked if they out and out fired him... despite the fact he blatantly bullshitted each and every Siena fan on what style he would play

At this point if Mitch sticks around I will only even consider attending a few games where they offer $5 tickets. With either Tobin or Carter taking over I would support the team the rest of the year by going to every game. Maybe I'm an incredibly small demographic but if there are 1,000 people out there like me then that is $15,000 a game they are losing. And I'm not sure how much money Siena may get from concessions but the season ticket holders that stay home certainly aren't helping in that regard. Keeping Gina round didn't have the same financial impact on the program.
