Not saying Fr Kevin wasn't sincere with his reply but come on people - what did you expect him to say? Oh yeah we're going to remove Mitch one way or another during Finals break? Please.... and for the reporters this is reminiscent of Amedicore's statements of (ahem) facts and (ahem again) knowing based on inside knowledge.... how true, he wasn't going to make a statement that we all wanted to hear, not right after a horrible loss with some emotions bottled up!!!!!!!!!

Curious if Fran calls Fr Kevin and lobbies for Mitch. I would imagine he is the know of everything that is going on here. Dealing with his own team is priority of course, but sticking up for his friend in a place where he has clout doesn't seem out of the question to me.

I thank him for five wonderful years (the best in Siena basketball history) but he wouldn't be looking at it objectively; of course he's going to back his friend. Someone like our own KnickSaint should have much more say than a former Siena coach. Gorvy's post hit the nail on the head: players/coaches come and go but we (the fans) are forever!

Like I said in a thread I started ("Want a change?") yesterday, the ONLY way the "father" will understand is to hit him in his leather bag of gold. DON'T GO TO THE GAMES.
Everyone, including him, knows Mitch is gone at the end of the year. So why allow more damge from a lameduck coach? Why not let Tobin do what Hewitt did with Beyers kids? RUN & PRESS all game long. Let 10 kids get decent playing time. Let the fans see you're trying to help turn the program back into the right direction TODAY, not in 4 months!!
Don't forget, now we have to listen to everyone LIE everyday!!! "No, I'm not worried about my job!" (Mitch)...."Nope, Mitch will never get fired, he's my man!" (Father Kevin)
ps--IF Mitch isn't gone by Christmas, I fully expect at least 2 kids to jump this sinking ship at the break.

Hoopjunkie
As another poster said any boycott needs to be organized as to a specific night. In that way the full effect will be realized and heard by ALL.

Obviously it's the next home game on the schedule......
In fairness to Father Kevin, I'm not sure how else he'd answer that question from a reporter. Should he have said, "We'll analyze his situation this week!" (Translation: He's getting fired), or "Yes, Mitch is gone after this season"
There's just no way, he could be that obtuse to what's going on here. He has to know it's D-Day.
Even Mitchs biggest supporters have thrown in the towel. ALL of them.

I certainly have no problem with anyone that stops going to the games. Personally, I am going to continue to go. My season tickets are paid for, I like the players, it's a great chance for me to get together with some friends/family I don't see often and I have become friends with the people that sit near me.
If it comes to a situation where I can't find someone to go to a game with me, I might opt out though.

If the choice is Friday then it can't be 20-30 people, it needs to be closer to the 1000 range in order to get the point across.

I think you're already starting to see it. There was no way there were 10k there last night. Guys like Tony, HJ and SF were not there last night, and their #'s count in the attendence. I honestly think that crowd could have accomodated with the tarp/curtain setup last night. Walkup will be low on Friday night.

Exactly, you could put twice the fans that were in that arena last night, its max is 15k, another lie to the fans.

A one game or even 3 game "boycott" is not going to accomplish anything except hurt the future of the program. Fr Kevin is a smart guy, he doesn't "need to be told" the fans are unhappy. There is a reason he runs a multi-million dollar enterprise and the vast majority of posters on here do not. This is proof positive as to why.

I will not pay for parking. I will not pay for concessions. All Siena mailings and emails will be immediately thrown out or deleted. And I will not buy anything at the Siena store. In other words, no extra dollars will go to Siena college until this thing starts getting back on track. I think a better idea is to organize this sort of boycott and instead pack hoopjunkie's place and other SIena boosters' places of establishment before and after the games. Lord knows their businesses are going to suffer the longer this continues. At the end of the season, if no improvement and Mitch is still coach, I will not renew my season tickets. (Let me tell you, that will be tough, but it is going to happen).

I didn't make the umass game. My guess to attendance was 7800-7900

So every guy that runs of a multi-million dollar "company" is a genius when it comes to sports? lol Not even cMitch. (the letters l-o-s-e are now being transposed as "MITCH" by the moderaters. )
