Long didn't play much at all not sure why. Really! You're not sure why??? Did you watch the game? I wasn't at the game but I had the video feed. Take a break from the steroids fella. Didn't think he played enough and didn't get the ball. Ill watch the game again and report back.

This game proved who the MVP of the team is. After Wright fouled at 7:09 we were up 4, lost by 9. An embarassing -13 plus/minus. He makes everyone better, and gets his teammates easy shots. Every possession after the 7 min mark seemed like a struggle. *the 15-30 Iona put up from the 3 pt line didn't help at all either

I agree that point guard should be a recruiting priority, but this game is not on hymes at all. Iona simply beat us mostly due to english and armand hitting many contested 3s. A good game by many of the saints - Wright is so good he must of had 5 steals and would have a lot more assists if his teamates could catch the ball or anticipate his play making ability. He is the teams best player and right now most valuable, going to be tough to recruit a decent PG knowing he is going to be playing 5 mpg for 3 years at least. Thats why they'll have to go combo guard route which might not help the point guard situation very much.
Whoever said Ogunyemi was by far the best big man is just flat out wrong. He should be competing with Wolfe for time right now. He struggles to finish, play tough against contact, and is a step too slow right now. He'll get better physically i hope his motor improves too.

Long seems a bit off. Tough game for the guys, there was a chance but losing Wright was the key to the loss.

We played well shot 50+. Iona hit 15 3's. That killed us. Hymes played well the one T/O at the end was w: Long he stayed on the block and should have released to the hoop. It happens no biggie. Oliver and White played well.

Game showed several things—we need a back up PG .. Bisping isn’t a 4—Long isn’t a 3 and Poole isn’t a 2—you can get away with that line up against slower teams against quicker teams it was blatantly obvious to anyone at game Iona was much—much faster than us. White played well in spurts – he had a unreal block on a guy that went over Bisping ( who just isn’t aggressive enough against quick guys) We are limited this year—although I think Oliver showed today he is a better option at the 3 than Long -- too Jimmy's credit he realized this and went smaller 2nd half, Bisping played much better at the 5 ..why Jimmy doesn’t sit guys who get their 4th foul a min or two is beyond me.. but anyway a good comeback .. Iona is a good team.. with plenty of shooters- knew going in it was going to be tough to match up with them—looks like a tough week coming up with trips to Iona and Manhattan

Tony loves his Troy kid I agree, J.O. is maybe the 3rd or 4th best big man right now. Hymes played decent....when wright was next to him. When he has the ball as the main facilitator, he struggles mightily. I was happy for Oliver. He played his best game ever at Siena and we needed it. Poole once again did a good job of contributing in the paint after realizing his jumper wasn't working. Maurice "Chalky" White played a real good game also. He finally made some shots and gave us toughness in the paint when we went small. Brett came back down to earth against a real good big in Laury. Lavon didn't seeem into the game for some reason? They are going to beat a lot of people if they shoot 15-30 from deep. We dida real good job of controlling the tempo in the 2nd half after letting them get 50 first half points. They only 62 with 9 min left!! I predictd any score in the 80's and we'd be in trouble because we don't have the firepower to stay with that group. I was also impressed that a team that runs like them, only had 9 turnovers. Number that shows our pressure never really worked.

As far as JO I agree now JO is probably 3rd best big man when I said that it was early in year..Imoh was turning everything over...Bisping wasn't playing well ...things change JO got hurt and other guys developed.
Long and Bisping had 4 rebounds combined in 39 min of action. they shot 2- for 7.. can you say dominated..I think its from playing out of position.

Right now they should just play white at the 4 and Bisping at 5.
Wright - Hymes - Poole - White - Bisping
Zone all day long, can press if you want. Four guys with good to decent handles. White plays physically and can rebound against bigger guys. Im serious against smaller teams it should be considered.

The 4 around 1 inside out offense works well with bisping who can pass well enough to execute it.

Just got back from the game...very tough loss. No doubt as HJ mentioned that Marquis Wright is our MVP. Like Ronald Moore the team is totally different when he isn't out on the floor. If anyone thinks the open 'ship isn't going to Taplin or another similar guard you are mistaken. I had a bad feeling when he fouled out even with the 4 point lead.
Give the team credit to coming back but hard to beat a good team like Iona allowing them to shoot 15/30 from three. Oliver and White (what a block he had) really had nice games. I think they both might see more time.
Lavon had a tough game but it happens as a frosh...I think playing more PF might help (please PPC don't shoot me)
On to Manhattan (Beamon is out and Marist took them to overtime today in Riverdale).
