I think most see the forest through the trees.. You do know college basketball is a business and that JP is paid a lot of money to win right? Both sides of the coins must be balanced and if you cannot see that – you my friend are the one that cannot see the forest through the trees I’m not advocating running anyone off ( that’s not the Siena way) But it’s fairly obvious that two ships will open up next spring- and again I say if you cannot see that you once again cannot see the forest through the tree’s- this is D1 basketball not D3 Reread what I wrote. I said cannot see the TREES Through the FOREST. Not the other way around. Yes. It is a business and anyone who thinks it isn't is naive. Even so, EVERYONE deserves respect. We are not evaluating the best Mac ' Cheese, we are talking about sentient beings. Furthermore, we are talking about YOUNG MEN here...not STOCKBROKERS. I guess I'm not that politically correct. When me and my friends were the age of these "young men" , we were defending our country in the first Gulf War. A little criticism on the internet wouldn't have upset me too much and I don't think it will harm these players too much.

Really? Did they have the World Wide Web Internet back then or was it still DARPANET in your day? Please post YOUR daily job progress reports in infinite detail and I will happily give you "constructive feedback" on everything you do or do not do. And post it on the Internet for everyone to read...FOREVER. Start a new thread so ALL can participate. Sounds fun, huh?

This is a basketball board-- I dont think hoopjunkie said any of the kids were not good young men. D1 is a business. So not sure where you are coming from with the no respect comment--saying two ships will free up is disrespect in your world?

I get where you're coming from, but let's face it, this is a message board for people that love this team, and college. 99% of us aren't attached emotionally to the kids, and when recruiting/playing time comes up, no one is trying to hurt anyones feelings, but the topic is very relevant and is a good topic for debate, and or discussion. We're 0-3 and frustration has already set in. When that happens, ways to improve the team come to the forefront. More quality players are needed, and thats evident already. It's tough sometimes, but we all need to remember this is a big money business. How do you love this team, but not the living, breathing, feeling humans that make it a team? Can you not see the trees for the forest? This is the post that prompted my response. I refrained from editing Hoopjunkie's words, but I hope you can see the sentiments that disturbed me. If not, well so be it. I imagine others will have no difficulty.

I see no disrespect- I think you are a tad too sensitive for this board. If that small paragraph bothers you-- you haven't read this board for any length of time
its blatantly obvious we dont have enough good players-- without good players Jimmy will lose- fans wont come to the games- Jimmy will get fired and the college will lose a tremendous amount of money- do you not see that?

Interesting. I have been reading the board since April and have the exact opposite opinion...I think this board is extremely sensitive.

These cats are grabbing a cool 50k out of high school. They have been critiqued, coddled, criticized, cajoled and screamed at by coaches their whole lives. They have bigger shoulders than most give them credit for. If I was playing and saw a bunch of fans on a message board getting on me Id try and give them something to really talk about.
This is D1 Basketball, it's not for the faint of heart. Furthermore, I would have to assume any kid going here know the expectations of the fan base.

These are college kids, their job is to get a degree, so I don't see the connection. This is a forum about a game. If you want to critique my basketball game, let's play sometime. If you want to critique my job, become my boss.

Then don't expect the new guy to win with the old guys bad players. Let's all have fun out there I say let everyone play 20 min each, and then at the banquet everyone gets a nice big "participation" trophy.
